It's cheap? That and I prefer getting to pick and choose what I want to read about rather than have to sit through a show or two in hopes …

- I'm turning into my parents
-
I'm... pretty sure that I've inherited quite a bit from my dad. We tend to share similar taste in books and interests (technology and what not).
I also have apparently picked up his perfectionism, which kinda surprised me. Mostly because it wasn't until it wasn't pointed out to me that I was like that I realized that "Wow! I guess I really am like that!"
Regardless, I don't think that I mind that much. When I was little, I always had a hard time getting along with my mother, so it doesn't come up as much of surprise that I'm more like my father in my behavior and interests than her.
But that being said, if you'd asked me this when I was in high school... I probably would have blown up at you. We all have times where we dislike our parents, and I have to say that since graduating high school, I've grown out of that.
Thank goodness.

- "Murasaki" by Liza Dalby: Go read it!
-
So that it's known- The book that's actually pictured here IS NOT the book that I actually read. It is, however, very close to it in that both books are based on the same subject. The book pictured is non-fiction while the "Murasaki" that I read was fiction.
The main reason as to why "Murasaki" is an important book for me is because it was one of the books that really opened my eyes about Japan and Japanese culture. This book reminded me that there's a lot more to the country than merely what is depicted in anime and manga and really pushed me to start learning more about it.
I have to say that it's because of this book (combined with her book on Geisha) that I really look up to this book's author, Liza Dalby. In many ways, I am envious of her and aspire to have experiences like the ones that she was able to have.

- Scars- Mine are nothing to write home about.
-
All right, for those of you who want some amazing story about how I fought death and won and gained a very sexy scar... Well, you're going to be disappointed.
I have roughly three scars that I'm aware of. One of which is on my right knee, and the other two are on my right hand.
The one on my knee I got when I was younger and had the misfortune of playing on an old toy. An old toy that had metal pipes attached to it. I ended up scraped quite a bit of skin and ended up with a scar.
The first of my hand scars were ones that I got in either jr high or high school. There's one that's small and right on my wrist which I got from a bad case of floor burn during a game that was played at my old church.
The other one is right in between the knuckles that go to my index and middle finger. This one I ended up getting in high school (for certain) when I wasn't being careful on my way to math class. I ended up scraping my knuckle against the brick wall of the stairwell I was using and bleed a bit. I had to wait until the actual lesson was over to clean it up because I was too nervous to ask the sub to let me go while she was teaching.

- Chocolate- A girl's best friend!
-
Well, it's mine, anyway!
Chocolate.
The form doesn't matter so long as it's sweet and milk chocolate.
None of that dark chocolate, though.
Yeah, a bit on the boring side, but it's true! Nothing makes me feel better than sitting down and having some sort of sweet, chocolate-y treat when I'm feeling down.
