most of the time i think that lying is completely pointless and makes you look like a complete dumbass in the end. why lie about anything other than to gain momentary satisfaction from friends. if your friends don't like you for who you are then screw them. the only time i believe it's okay to lie is when you leave out details that could potentially hurt someone. unless what you know is life changing to them (which it's usually not) then why lie at all? i never really lie, i just leave details out when they're not necessary. be real.

On take your daughter to work day when I was really young I wanted to go to Filene’s with my mom for once instead of going to IBM with my dad. I had to pee really bad so I asked my mom to take me to the bathroom and so she walked me there and then got paged back to her office and told me I should remember how to get back to her office. Definitely forgot everything! So I just wandered around and asked random strangers where the Human Resources Offices were and when I finally found it I walked in only to see my mom and and of the other managers laughing at me. I was wearing a skirt and there was a huge trail of toilet paper hanging out of the back that had apparently been there since I left the bathroom. I was so embarrassed!
