    • How I'd spend $1,000

      • Ideally, I would use it to buy something to inspire hope in a few people: maybe some hot chocolate for all the people who sleep outside the big Catholic church downtown. Realistically, I'd probably pay off some bills, and maybe buy a nice lunch for some friends. But I don't buy lottery tickets, so this one will have had to mysteriously appear in my pocket.

    • Alligators?

      • Alligator gar from Mississppi; 1910.

        I think the alligator gets a bad rap. My brother-in-law thinks alligators are better as boots and purses, but maybe they just need a better PR campaign. There was one that never harmed a human, cat, or dog (or so the story claims.) He was shot in the back one night. And is now stuffed and immortalized in the lobby of the Wakulla Springs Lodge near Tallahassee, FL.

        I'm not saying I want to bring the gator into my house, but maybe we could enjoy nature's rivers and streams together.

      • I don't think it's wise to say, i'm an adult, as if that means i'm now restricted to one category of responses to situations...but maybe that is what it means...maybe i'm not an adult. I do, however, take responsibility for my actions, even if they are randomly juvenile...so maybe that counts for something.
