Plinky says - Write a (very) short story without using the letter 'L.
She thinks that maybe if she can do this, then everything goes fine.
But tomorrow, she may find out that everything can be fine even without the writing of a story that adheres to something set by someone somewhere whom she doesn't know and whom she may never meet. Things are funny that way.

I've loved this quote since I first read it at the age of twelve. Every time I think that everything's too dark or disconsolate, I think of this quote and I feel a little better.
