    • Coolest People on the Planet
      • That is a great question! The five people I spend most of my time with are my husband, my son, and my daughters...and God. (My sixth would be my oldest son but he is off on his own path; college, dating, life, etc.)

Who would I like to spend time with? My husband, my son, my daughters, and God.

I know it drives my family crazy sometimes but I really do prefer to hang out with them. We all need a break of course, but even if I could never get another break I would still pick the same crew. God is just a given. He blessed me with the rest of them.

    • My Last Letter
      • This picture was taken during my visit with Ed and his grandmother in the Dominican Republic. Ed is sponsored by New Hope Christian Church and the last letter I wrote went to him - along with a baseball glove and some baseball cards.

The last time I wrote someone a handwritten letter was too long ago!

It seems like it has been a really long time and that is totally not a good thing. I think the last time was probably six months ago. It may not seem like a long time too you. However, I am way behind in my letter writing!

The church sponsors 10 children through World Vision. In addition, my family personally sponsors three. I am usually the one that writes to all of them - not always but usually. I have received almost all of the annual updates from our kids, and the church's kids, but haven't had the chance to respond to any of them yet.

I think it is about time to get out some paper and get to work on that!

    • "I definitely do not approve this message."
      • Mayor Gordon Clinton campaign commercial, 1959

Honestly, I cannot stand campaign ads on television or the ones that show up in the mailbox. Every election season, presidential or not, the campaign ads get ridiculous and it drives me crazy. In my opinion, it is a huge waste of my time and their money!

They DO NOT influence my vote - ever!!!! It is much more worth my effort to invest the time necessary to seek out relevant information through other sources and find out who the candidates are instead of basing my vote on what their opponent thinks of them.

    • Less Ice Might be Nice
      • Antarctica Trip 2001

There are so many places in the world that I would like to visit, it is hard to think of one that I wouldn't. I guess, if I had to, I would skip a trip to Antarctica. I am not necessarily scientific so exploring that ice-covered, polar region just doesn't make a lot of sense for visiting.

I'm a Florida native, so obviously ice and snow are not the normal for me. The scenery is kind of bland - ice, ice, and more ice. Few if any signs of life and very few options for escape if something bad happens.

    • Wohoo! Vision Trip to Peru!
      • World Vision Donations

        My friends going to Peru!

On Sunday, two of my good friends from church are going with World Vision on a Vision trip to Peru to meet their sponsor child. I am super excited for them because I know exactly how cool it is to meet a child that is so close to your heart.

Terry and Steve have sponsored children through World Vision for a long time now and this experience will change their lives forever. I am so happy for them and can't wait until they get back so they can tell me about everything!

Prayers and blessings to both of them!
