    • Wohoo! Vision Trip to Peru!
      • World Vision Donations

        My friends going to Peru!

On Sunday, two of my good friends from church are going with World Vision on a Vision trip to Peru to meet their sponsor child. I am super excited for them because I know exactly how cool it is to meet a child that is so close to your heart.

Terry and Steve have sponsored children through World Vision for a long time now and this experience will change their lives forever. I am so happy for them and can't wait until they get back so they can tell me about everything!

Prayers and blessings to both of them!

    • It Has Been Too Long Since My Last Library Visit
      • Library

It has definitely been a few months since the last time I went to the library. However, the summer is quickly approaching. The kids will be home and they will need something to do with all that free time.

Every summer, the kids and I go to the library at least once a week - usually to pick out some more movies though. My youngest likes Goosebumps books and movies. Anna loves to read and has started her own blog. And Dylan will pick out a handful of books but it is music he is really after.

Occasionally we participate in the library's program but they are usually over-run by toddlers and local pre-schools/Day camps. We always run into someone we know - which is encouraging - but for the most part we don't spend a lot of time there.

      • Rock Out

Most of the time I listen to music in my car and it is whatever my 14 year-old finds on the local rock station. We definitely enjoy the same kind of music - Beastie Boys, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, etc. - usually no arguing. However, I refuse to listen to Weezer! Not a fan!

Occassionally, I will switch over to oldies but that is because it is the best place to find the Beach Boys. I have a wide variety of music generes to choose from in the car. I can listen to just about anything in the car.

    • Invisible Children is the "Must-See Documentary"
      • Child Soldier 2

        Invisible Children...period.

This movie takes the viewer into the REAL world. There is a war going on in Uganda. It is a brutal war and one that has displaced millions. If that is not enough for you, tens of thousands of children have been kidnapped and forced to fight this war. These kids, some as young as eight, are ripped away from their homes and families and given a gun. Some are forced to murder their own parents.

Invisible Children is the journey of three men who thought they were going to Sudan. What they found in Uganda redirected their future..forever. Buy it...see it...SHARE IT!!!
