    • Overheard at My Own Funeral
      • Have you ever wondered what people will say about you at your funeral? Well, I pretended I was a fly on the wall at my own funeral. Here are some snippets of conversations that I might hear . . .

        Mountain Road In Fall

"As busy as she was, she always had an extra chair and would make you a place at the table and you weren't allowed to say no. She made you feel special, no matter whether you just met or knew each other for a hundred years."

"I loved our late night talks. I'm gonna miss that. We always said she was the glue that kept our little group together."

"Just let somebody say 'Road trip' and she'd say 'When?' Remember that time our rental car broke down on that deserted mountain road and the four of us had to flag down a car to help us get it going again? I love how she didn't mind getting lost and considered it a new adventure. And that was even before GPS. I'm sure glad those two guys were nice and not kidnappers."

"I was friends with her from seventh grade, and we were just talking the other day about how much alike we turned out to be after all these years apart. We both loved the simple things, were practically hermits really -- hardly ever even saw each other -- but when it came time for some new clothes, we both loved thrift stores."

"She made the best fried chicken ever."
