College was the most fun, but graduate school has taught me the most. I have had the most personal and professional development during my time in graduate school. Though it has been rough, which is why it is hard to call it my favorite. College is the one time in your life where you are free in the world on your own, but with few responsibilities. Its your chance to experience life.

Harry Potter, the whole series. Each time I read it, I pick up on something new that J.K. Rowling included through out the series that I missed the first time. The level of depth to these books never ceases to amaze me. Good thing I have them all on audiobook.

The Worst Teacher I Ever Had

Over the years, I have had some teachers that I did not get along with. In high school, I often challenged teachers and I enjoyed being challenged back. For me it was about the learning not about being right. I wanted to fully explore the material and often I would ask the difficult questions. Most teachers enjoyed this and pushed back. It was a good relationship. However, my worst teacher refused to push back. She needed to be right and to not be challenged by a student. As a result, she gave up on teaching me. We proceeded to do nothing but read the newspaper for the rest of class. This was right after 9/11 in a history class, a great chance to challenge and explore history, but she just sat back while we did nothing. For the final, I went to ask her one question on the test and she just gave me the answer key and told me to copy it. That does not teach students anything, and I did not learn anything from that class.

Be patient with high school. Things are tough now, you feel like you don't fit in, but it will get better. Life in high school is not the end of your life, but only the beginning.
