- CARE-FREE.......
-
...... like that will ever happen!
I really don't miss anything about it, because, in many ways, I still feel like a child. I guess the only thing I miss about being a child is the feeling of being care-free.
Being an almost-adult can be a drag sometimes. I have a lot more responsibilities now that I am 16 than I ever did as a 6-year-old, but I probably had more responsibilities than the average 6-year-old. Not only do I homeschool myself now that I am in 11th grade, I cook most of the meals in our house, and I help with the cleaning and keeping of the house.
After reading this, it sounds super braggy, but it's the truth AND it is something that I miss most about being a child- being care-free!

- Me? A Josh Groban Fan???

Who'da Thunk???
By this, you can probably guess that I am a Josh Grban fan. Your guess would be correct. I fell in love with Josh Groban's voice when I heard him sing the Prayer with Charlotte Church on her CD Enchantment. We then looked him up to see if he had any of his own CDs. We found out that he did have one CD, and we bought it. We wore it almost completely out in the first week because we listened to it so much.
Josh Groban by You Raise Me Up
The next CD he came out with, Closer, was like a breath of fresh air. I had been waiting for what seemed like an eternity for a new Josh Groban CD. My favorite song on it was You Raise Me Up. It was so completely different from any song I had ever heard, and my love for it was deepened when I saw him sing it at a Super Bowl. With the choir in the background and his amazing voice in the foreground, he brought the crowds to their feet!
The next CD that came out, I was a little dissapointed in. There were two songs I didn't like at all, and then there were a lot of songs that were just, shall we say, *snore*? I did really love one song in particular, not only for the lyrics, but the arrangement of the music, and I love playing it on the piano. That song is February Song. Something I have noticed about Josh Grogan, is that his music and singing ability have gotten better with every CD he has released. He is currently in the process of releasing a new one called Illuminations, and there is a song on the album called Hidden Away, and that is my new favorite song of his. I am beyond excited for this new CD to come out, and I would love to be able to see him on tour!

ROAD TRIP!!!
It would start leaving my home in Poughkeepsie, NY, with my siblings, Laura and Peter, along for this amazing ride. We would head due south towards NJ, and drive all day and halfway through the night until we finally made it to High Point, NC, where we would stay with my dearest Mee-Maw for a couple days and visit with our aunts and uncle and cousins. We would then continue south and would drive all day until we got to Atlanta, GA. While there we would go to that aquarium that I've been hearing awesome reviews about, and we would eat at the Outback Steakhouse where they have the gluten-free bloomin' onion. We would then continue heading south until we got to Gulf Breeze, FL. We would probably end up staying there for about 5 days or more, and while we were there, we would be visiting all of the cool specialty shops and eating at Surf Burger and Flounders. (YUMMY!!) We would then head west towards AL. We would drive for two days until we got to Dallas, TX, where we would stay with our dearest great aunt Teri and great uncle Gary. We would probably stay there for about 5 days, all the while stuffing ourselves with the amazing food all around Dallas. We would then head west towards Abilene, TX, where my sister and her husband live. We would stay with them for a while, and then head to visit my great grandmother in Littlefield, TX, and my grandma in Abernathy, TX. Before we would get there, though, we would stop at Palo Duro Canyon to see TEXAS!. It's a play that is about the founding of TX. We would then continue heading west towards NM where we would stop at Carlsbad Caverns. I have not been there since I was a child and I have wanted to see if it has changed. We would then head north towards Colorado. We would stay in Cuchara for a little while and then head on over to Denver. While we were there, we would visit The Garden of the Gods, Pike's Peak, and hike any other mountain we have the inclination to, and maybe try some new things. We would then head east towards Kansas. We would drive to O'Fallon, MO, where our old babysitters, who happen to be dear friends, live with their two children. We would stay with them a couple days and then head north east to Detroit, MI, where my dearest Aunt Pansy and Uncle Bill live. We would stay with them for quite a while. We would hit all of the awesome thrift stores out there and visit the cool museums. We would then headsouth until we got to IN. We would then head west until we got to IL. We would then head north west, driving to SD to see Mt. Rushmore. We would then head north to Grand Forks, ND to visit all of our friends out there. We would stay for a very long time and do lots of fun things, like, play volleyball, ride bikes, play raquetball, have bonfires, and more stuff like that that I so enjoy doing with my friends! When we leave there, we would take all of those friends who didn't have jobs or who could get off with us, and we would head west through MT, ID, to WA where we would go to the coast and visit Seatle and go up in the Space Needle. We would then head south to OR and visit some friends who live there. Then We would go to CA, and visit all of the major resturants and places of interest and go to Disney Land! Our road trip is almost done, all we have to do is drop all of our friends back home and head home. We drive through NV, breeze through AZ, stop in UT to visit Salt Lake City, then drive through the rest of the states we have to drive through to get back to ND. We say goodbye to our friends, and then drive our short way home to Poughkeepsie, NY.

- If I Could've Chosen My Name, I Would've Picked......
-
Nyah- Arabic- Meaning: Reed, or Pipe
Storm- American- Meaning: A Storm
I think the only real reason I would change my name is to get people to stop singing "How do you solve a problem like Maria?". Don't get me wrong, I love my name, but I might want to change my name, maybe just for a day to see how I liked it. I might change it to Nyah Storm. I love the name Nyah because it just sounds cool when you say it, and I love the name Storm as a middle name because it is so different. As much as I love both of these names, I don't think I'll ever change any part of my name, except for maybe my last name.

.... or we'll have to get out the soap!
Absolutely con! Of all of the words that there are in the English language (Which, by the way, there are 171,476) why on this earth do you HAVE to say things that, one, you probably don't know the meaning, and two, are not necessary?? In Matthew 5:34-36 it says, "But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black." Notice the phrase "Swear not at all." I take that commandment very seriously!
