clothes have never played a big part of my daily life. not one article of clothing gets special treatment. i don't separate my colors from my whites; it all goes in at the same temperature, and it all goes in the dryer. if it doesn't survive, it's not for me.

it's a rare occasion when i don't finish a book that i start.
i appreciate this book for what it signifies: it gives a voice to all those experiences that have been silenced for so long by abuse and molestation. i don't doubt that this novel has had a tremendous impact on the lives of many women.
i read fiction to expand my imagination, rather than stifle it. life is full of stifling experiences as it is. i think i made it to chapter 3.

i'm about to go to bed, and i'm still wearing my shoes. my 34 years have finally caught up with me & i'm really scared. every last part of me wants to run away so fast right now. but i'm not giving up. i know i have to learn this lesson.
i must learn to trust that not every relationship ends in abandonment.
