- Music I've Been Listening To Recently
-
Dear Mom,
Have you realised my love for music? If yes, at what age did you? Do you think your active participation in the church choir has something to do with it? Need I ask more, why did you look on when I pursued Literature during high school education? Nevertheless I am very glad in my present situation; even though I do not know where I would have been if I had pursued another discipline. What's more my gladness if spiced by music. What kind of music do I listen to then? Need I say that my interest for blues have shifted over the years to songs with subliminal messages of encouragement, love, sufficiency (and gratitude), peace, and above all makes me think more about my Creator.
Over the past months, I have created a playlist on my phone especially after I bought a new earpiece. When the phone's music player to "LIVE", it makes be feel as if I were in the front stage of the song's performance. These are the songs in no particular order...
Ancient Words, by Michael W. Smith
Lord, We've come to Worship, by Don Moen
My Help, by Women of Faith
Hallelujah, by George Fredrick Handel
German Dance, K.605 No.3 Sleigh Ride, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Magic, by Robin Thicke
Man in the Mirror, by Michael Jackson
Say (All I Need), by OneRepublic
"Nipa b3y33 bi", by Rex Gyamfi (Ghana)
"Lonely Sky", by Chris De Burgh and James Blunt's "One of the Brightest Stars"
Mum, I think you have a predisposition for hymns... which is your favorite one? Do you also have a 'list'? I would like to read about it in your reply. I'll sign off here... with love,
Kweku

- What Makes Me Laugh Like Nothing Else can?
-
This is the first post I'm making via Plinky...and I'm pretty sure it would be a helpful way to blog more often. The original question is "What makes me smile like nothing else". But smiling caused by something that in a way "nothing else can", I think would 'degenerate' into giggles and laughter... so I'll talk about what makes me laugh like nothing else.. lol
I wanted to have a scale within this answer.. because I found three things that make me smile. I would arrange them in descending order below;
1. When my junior brother, Kwabena.. mimics our dad. There's some way Papa asks the boys how we are doing. It sounds weird in my ears because he started saying it that way when he enrolled in adult training school. Sometimes my brother would add a excerpts of a dialog he's had with Dad in my absence. I'll try to figure out what the conversation was about. When I do, I giggle.. when I'm not, I'll ask Kwabena to tell me.. the narration is as funny as the accompanying gestures.
2. This one seems to conflict with the first one... OMG
When Bismark, Sammy and I meet, it's all about making every second laughable. We tell jokes, reminisce about school days; lecturers, colleagues, class times and jokes we shared those days. What's more, we each see the other as the funniest. I remember this joke about how the male chimp signals to the female chimp about his readiness for an "exchange programme".
3. This one is about my two sisters. There's a local music artist (Tinny (pronounced 'Tiny') we three love. Sometimes we use his lyrics to communicate, and expect the other to grab the meaning immediately. Sometimes, it's not spontaneous.. it may require you to even identify the song which owns that line... then apply it to the context of the dialogue. It it draws laughter for at least 5 minutes... until everyone around grows curious and wants to know what's up!
