      • A little indulgence never hurt.

        Top 40 Radio
When stressed, I can likely be found with my head hiding between headphones, listening to such classy selections as Ke$ha or Rhianna remixes. The vapid, poppy sounds of modern radio hits give my overworked mind a reprieve. And you can bet I'm going to sing along.

        Caffeine
I cannot claim to enjoy the headaches that ensue if I fail to get my three cups of java every morning.

        The Gym
        My gym routine:
        1. Check out the eye candy.
        2. Pump some iron.
        3. Enjoy the endorphin high.
        4. Hop on the treadmill and enjoy a good episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
        5. Worship in this House of Hedonism.

        Teaching Others
I like to think that I have lived a life that has afforded me some wisdom. Sometimes, I share it. Sharing it is never as satisfying, though, as seeing my advice work in improving the lives or conditions of my friends and the occasional stranger.

        Writing
It is the only decently satisfying means of catharsis I have yet found.

        Trashy TV Programming
Read my reasons for the "Top 40 Radio" selection, only replace "Top 40 Radio" with "E!: Entertainment Television" and "The Learning Channel"; Ke$ha with "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami"; "Rhianna remixes" with "True Hollywood Story"; and "vapid, poppy sounds of modern radio hits" with "overhyped reality smut and solid, mindless entertainment."

        Third-Party Perspectives
I tend to be extremely resistant to the opinions and advice to those people who are close to me (I will spare you the explanatory manifesto here). But when a taxi driver tells me I should work less or a sales clerk offers me life advice, I feel compelled to listen. Most of the time, I can learn something.

        Open Space
Unless you have ever been fortunate enough to know what it is like to be the sole occupant of a square mile of farmland, I doubt I could sufficiently explain the feeling.

        Working
I was born for it. Lots of it. At one time. In extreme quantities.

Sorry, but this will never be classy.

        The art crowd shows up.
I still find them ridiculously intimidating.

What can I say? I am a product of CMU parties.
