Fate. Destiny. Meant to be....these words sound like they belong in the tag line of some cheesy rom-com, as in "fate brought them together, love made them Brangalina." In our ever growing cynacism, it is hard to believe in fate or destiny, and to admit that you do seems somewhat quaint.
I don't believe in fate, per se, but I do believe that things happen for a reason. Unfortunately, that reason is oftentimes outside of our understanding, and is not readily apparent. (The Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers" comes to mind.) Actually, I suppose what I believe in is making the best of a situation and the best may eventually come out of it.
