      • Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia

I live in Malaysia, a country with immense diversity.

Many races live under one roof, and therefore, there are many cultural holidays to honour each and every race. Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali, Christmas - you name it, we probably celebrate it. Therefore, Malaysia is rich in its culture.

And best of all is the food. Because so many races live under one roof, the food is made to suit each and every race. It is utterly delicious! Nasi lemak, roti canai, char kuey teow... Regardless of race, we can sit in a mamak or kopitiam (eatery place) and just chat over food till kingdom come!

Also, there are many places to visit in Malaysia. If you like gambling, go to Genting Highlands. If you like nature, go to Cameron Highlands. If you like beaches, there's Penang Island, Pangkor Island, Langkawi Island, Redang Island, just to name a few. If you are intrigued by nature, there's Gua Niah. Basically, there's lots to do in Malaysia.

    • swear words
      • I guess I'm neutral towards it.

It's not like I cringe everytime I hear a swear word. I know it's wrong to use them, but each to his own liking. And I even use them sometimes. When I'm really pissed off at something. But then again, I have to be REALLY REALLY REALLY pissed to actually use swear words.

I think it all depends on the situation. Like, if there is a situation that you cannot express how pissed or angry you are except by swearing, then I don't mind.

    • comfort food
      • My favourite comfort food? It has to be chocolate! Well, if you want to be specific, dark chocolate.

Why? Well, for one, it's sweet and I have a sweet tooth. So biting into a bar of dark chocolate is guaranteed to take all my problems away. At least for the time being...

Dark chocolate is chocolate with no milk, or with much less milk than milk chocolate. It has various health benefits, as it seems to possess substantial amount of antioxidants that reduce the formation of free radicals. So eating a lot of dark chocolate may not be so bad after all!

    • insomnia
      • My natural biological clock keeps me up at night. Currently. On random nights, I can't sleep. But I can fall asleep while watching TV the next day.

Other than that, if I'm up at night, it's probably because I'm excited about something happening the next day. I am told this is natural, though - when excited, your body releases a hormone called adrenaline that increases heart rate, contracts blood vessels and dilates air passages, making you unable to sleep.

Well, if you were to ask me five years ago what kept me up at night, I would say my roommate. She couldn't sleep like a normal person - she was nocturnal - she slept during the day (and wakes only when she had to go for classes) and would be up all night. So when I was trying to sleep, she'd be wide awake, tittering on her computer. Sometimes she listened to music, even. I can tell that she tries to keep the sound going as quietly as possible, but it still gets me.

    • makes me smile
      • This picture makes me smile. Not in a :) kind of way, but in a :D kind of way. The two ducks sitting side-by-side as if there is nothing in the world that can go against them are simply adorable. But I adore rubber duckies anyway. And the phrase, "I'm so in love with you..." is just ♥.
