    • My Favorite Form of Exercise
      • Le tour de France - 2007 - Waregem

The Tour de France this year has reignited my love of cycling. I used to be a fan or more off-road and trick styles like downhill mountain biking and BMX but now I've become obsessed with road cycling.

Jumping on my exercise bike keeps me fit and doing it in front of the TV while watching the professional riders go for it on the mountain stages gives me even greater respect for their levels of fitness and stamina.

I really need to get a new road bike as I haven't ridden properly for years now. Plus, running makes my legs feel like they're going to break.

    • Being the worst Coffee and Tea connoisseur
      • Starbucks Seattle Latte

I'm a bit of a failed tea expert. I tried to get into the hipster style loose tea thing by starting out with these special tea bags which had either flavoured or just different types of tea leaves in them.

I had one or two cups and never went back for more as I couldn't get used to the taste. Quite pathetic of an effort but maybe I'll try again one day.

As far as what I drink now, it's also pretty light weight compared to the real coffee drinkers out there. I honestly can't tell the difference between decaf and regular coffee so I just stick with the first option so I don't load up with caffeine too much, plus it still wakes me up because it's hot.

Tea I can tell the difference between the regular and decaf and so I can't drink the latter as it tastes so much worse. I think in our household we've always drunk the same brand of regular black tea for as long as I can remember. When I get given some when I'm out somewhere, it's never even close to the perfect taste. You get used to making it the exact same way and then when it's not that way you end up hating it.

It's not like I don't want to be open minded but my taste buds have been adjusted too much over time. I had a Starbucks chilled latte from Tesco once though. That was pretty good.

    • My Favorite Things to Photograph
      • space

Everything really. To highlight a few things, probably the night sky and nice landscapes are the things I take most pleasure in and have most experience in respectively, but I don't get the opportunity to capture people enough and studio photography is something I want to try my hand at.

I also want to try sports photography including motorsports which is a big passion of mine.

At the end of the day though, if I get the cool feeling of holding an SLR in my hands I don't mind where I am or what the subject is.

    • My Favorite Sporting Events
      • Wimbledon 2005 - Centre Court

I find it hard to not get absorbed in big sporting events. Usually things like the Olympics, Tennis Grand Slams such as the Australian Open which is on now, and to a certain extent, Football World Cup peak my interest.

Of course, there's also all kinds of motorsport including F1, WRC, Indycar, Nascar and many others that I enjoy, but those are regular events and don't last over weeks at a time as the others I mentioned do.

As far as where I would prefer to watch events such as these. Most of the time I would rather watch on TV if you get a better view of the action than if you're at the venue. Motorsport is a good example where you don't really see a lot of the action if you're stuck sitting at one part of the track. You gain in atmosphere but would end up not knowing what was going on.

In a sport like Tennis though, where you don't miss out on much by being there in person, I'd love to someday visit a tournament like Wimbledon or the Olympic tennis event there. I suppose you might miss out on the up-close views and instant replays of TV, especially if you're sitting a long way back from the action, but you'll feel the atmosphere and excitement of being there live and never be so far away that you won't know what's happening.

    • How I get creative
      • Compositing The Creative Commons

Photography and writing are my two real forms of creative expression. I've never been much of an artist with a pencil or paint, nor really with many other things including fiction writing, but photography and blogging really give me that chance.

In the past I've also done things like 3D modelling and website design which allowed me to create, but those have fallen to the wayside and aren't what I'm interested in now.
