      • Home Economics (this includes basic finance, nutrition, basic home maintenance) and Civics classes back in every school.

        How can we expect to have responsible, engaged citizens if no one ever defines what that means or teaches how to achieve it?

        Maybe by the time today's kindergarteners are CFOs, private companies can go back to being private companies.

        really, in that it ended in an "i" that could be dotted with a heart.

      • The most impressive thing I have ever built/repaired/duct taped* is a house. Two springs in the late 90s I spent with a group of friends building houses in South Carolina with Habitat for Humanity.

        It was an amazing experience. Where else can an 18 year old girl learn to roof a house, hang cabinets, raise walls and insulate an attic?

        *I need to duct tape more.
