      • In response to: "Even if you aren't a chef, what's your favorite dish to prepare?" I like to bake. And, if I had a chance to do it all again, I would have gone to a cooking school instead.

    • That's funny, right?
      • I'm usually impressed by clever observations about the world around us, and twists on the seemingly obvious. I'm also good at laughing at myself - people tell me I'm a laugh riot.

    • The Monastery on Enders Island is the oldest place I've been recently
      • I don't know the right name for this place ...

There's this really interesting Monastery on Enders Island, which is near, or attached to Mason's Island, near Mystic, CT. Apparently, the water will come right up to the edge of a prayer area, when the tide is high. We saw it this past Fall - it was very cool.

    • Oreos, gum and a mix tape - with loads of bubble wrap for popping
      • This would mostly be an exercise in my own narcissism, I suspect.

        A mix tape
I mean a CD - with stuff that I know my friend would like to hear.

        A box of Oreos
You can probably get these anywhere, but they always seem to taste better when a friend gives them to you, right?

A pack of 5 Gum - the minty blue
This is the best gum sold in our country, by far.

        An assortment of news clips
Random news and events from the local scene, that my friend likely missed while overseas.

    • I'm scar-free, but ...
      • My son has a good one ...

Happily, I am scar-free - at least in the physical, visible sense, right? My son - my youngest of three kids - has a doozie on his forehead from one time when he took a digger running down our driveway, tripped, and went face first into the bricks lining the drive. He was super brave about it. And got it glued back together - instead of stitches.
