      • Whatsoever Things Are Lovely Think On These Things

Memories that are good memories are always treasured. You can be just sitting around, working in the kitchen, in the garden, taking a walk, or most anything when a memory pop up in your head and spontaneously a smile breaks out on your face.

These kind of memories brings you that warm feeling and deep satisfaction of the good part of your life. When trouble in boiling, or you are just plain tired, or sick, or no matter what your disposition is in your body, thinking of good memories has a way of cheering you up.

No wonder the scripture say: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
        Philippians 4:8

The next time you are down and out with all the situations around you, some of which you can never change if you tried, and other maybe not as bad as they seem, start doing as the Apostle said in Philippians. Think on the good things. Things that has happened in your own personal life, the life of your friend or friends, or history. Whatsoever things that are lovely.... "THINK ON THESE THINGS"

    • Turkey Time
      • Turkey-- love it or leave it?

Back in my early days we had chicken as our special Thanksgiving Meat. Then one year it was decided to buy a turkey....It has been on our menu since. I think you have to know how to prepare it for it to be your only meat for Thanksgiving.

My Mom did know how to bake it. It was wrapped in aluminum foil and baked all night. We put it in the oven at eleven or so the night before on a low temperature and the oven was turn off the next morning at around five and checked. It was removed from the oven to be sliced when all the rest of the food was finished and ready to be set on the table.

When people were gathered around the table and the blessing was ask I don't remember anyone passing by the turkey without a portion on their plate, Along with the meat was potatoes, green beans, corn, macaroni, deviled eggs, dressing, lettuce salad, potatoes salad, 24 hour salad, rolls, and all the deserts to go with the meal.

After the meal was over and everything washed and put back into place we devided the leftovers from turkey down to the desert.

The next day at our home a gravy was prepared and the turkey was put in it and served over toasted sliced bread along with the vegetables. It was a treat. Just as good as the day before.

After years of serving turkey, we are still buying and preparing the turkey for our Thanksgiving Feast! How about you?????????

    • Everything Happens for a Reason: My Stance
      • Once my little girl.....Now my beautiful Daughter

One day, as the children were playing in the livingroom and really enjoying themselves, all of a sudden my least little one stopped and crawled upon the sofa and layed down. When I checked on her she felt very warm. I told my husband about her. Check her temperature and I will be right there as soon as I finish my shower, "he replied." When I took her temperature and looked it was 105 degrees. My husband and I had prayer with her and immediately the temperature started dropping. In my prayer and ernestness to God, I ask God not to take my little girl. He heard our prayer and showed mercy on us.

The next day, as I was doing my work in the kitchen, a truck pulled up and someone came to the door and ask for my husband. I told him he wasn't at home right now but I was expecting him soon. I ask if he and his wife wanted to come in and he said they would just wait. After a while, he came to the door and told me he needed to see my husband about a grave lot. He proceeded to tell me that his grandchild had suddenly died and someone had told him that my husband took care of selling the grave lots at the church.

After hearing this, I knew just why my little one had such a high fever the very night before. My heart sank within me as I pondered the thought of my little one with her limpness, lifeless state just the night before. How I cried, and prayed out to God begging him not to let her die. I was almost speechless. Trying to retain myself, I asked that he and his wife come in. I offered them something to eat and something to drink. Then I sat down and listened to the woman as she told her story of her the unexspecked death of her grandchild.

God prepared us for every situation. In this case, He prepared my heart for this grieving woman.

I am so thankful to God for his great love and mercy toward us. There is not a friend like Jesus!

This reminds me of a song:

1.There is not a friend like Jesus In the trying scenes of life, He can hear the heart's faint whisper, Calm the tempest's raging strife. 2.There is not a friend like Jesus; Bid the scoffing world a-dieu; For if you're ashamed of Jesus He will be ashamed of you. 3.There is not a friend like Jesus; Trust Him ev-'rywhere you go; He has trod the way before you, Suffered ev-'ry pain and woe. 4.There is not a friend like Jesus; When you draw your life's last breath; If you'll be his friend while living. He will be your friend in death. 5.There is not a friend like Jesus; What a bless-ed tho't to be Folded in His arms of pow-er Ev-en in e - ter - ni - ty!

      • Jesus Christ WallPaper

The man that suffered for all of us like no other. Alfa and Omega, The First and The Last, The Beginning and The End, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Ancient of Days, El Shaddai, Prince of Peace, The Bright and Morning Star, Awesome God, Lord, Lord Jesus Christ, A Strong Tower, Bride Groom, Faithful and True. These are just a few of His names.

The Lord hath done great things for us. When we were hungry, thirsty, naked, when we were a stranger, in prison, in every situation that all of us have been in He has supplied our needs. Every situation that I have named may not have been all of our situations but He has been a Great Big Wonderful God to all of us. He hath supplied all of our needs such as His riches in Glory! Sometimes we have ask Him for them and other times He has given them to us before we ask. And last but not least that I will mention, He has taken away our sins and the sins of the whole world, as far as east is from west, to those that will call upon His name and repent of their sins, through His precious blood. Oh Hallelujah, Oh, what a Savior!

    • The Best Advice I Ever Received
      • While thinking upon this question, my thoughts were, by whom and when was I given good advice!
The thought came to me "The Bible". Everything that I needed to know or still need to know comes from the Bible.
One specific time I am thinking about is when I held our 6 pound 12 ounce baby boy in my arms for the first time. I did want my baby boy.... I just didn't know how to raise boys. Somehow I thought I know how to raise girls but not boys. I was still having a tremendous amount of after pains and as I lay there in bed I just didn't know what I was going to do this this little bundle of joy in my arms. Some of the boys in my school I thought was out of control and my thought were "I don't want this little one to turn out like them". I started praying for God to give my wisdom how to raise him. I didn't know everything at ounce. By studying the Bible it gave me insight on child raising do and don't. Sometimes when I did the wrong thing at the wrong time I had to backup and try again or redo. Sometimes that is not an easy thing to do but in His arms we can make it.
I now have three sons now and still I have to trust HIM for answers and thank Him for them.
At this time I want to give a great big "THANK YOU GOD!"
