- I'd rather die of heatstroke than hypothermia.
-
I grew up in Idaho, a state that suffers both extremes, and I far prefer heat to cold. I've experienced -60 in Ukraine and 120 in Las Vegas, and heat wins.
Yes, I know you can just put on more layers if it's cold. But I just advise staying out of the sun in hot weather. Nothing beats 90 degrees at midnight. It's a fact.

- When I'm Most Productive
-
This photo has nothing to do with my post. It's just neat.
To be quite honest, I haven't felt productive in a long time. However, there are brief, fleeting moments when I feel super productive and I should really work hard to take advantage of those moments.
These moments include:
1. Right after a shower
2. Right after a workout
3. When I'm standing up.
However, if you recorded the amount of time that I spend showering, running or standing on a given day, we'd all cry tears of sadness at the ratio. I'm too sedentary lately and I haven't been nearly as productive as I should be.
I have a bunch of blogs in the hopper that I need to finish, a macbook that's lying in pieces on my coffee table and my house is a mess. Not to mention that I need to raise $25,000 for a grad school program I'm starting in a few months.
So I really should spend more time standing, I think is what I'm saying.

My very favorite building in the world is the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco. I've been enamored with it since I was a kid.

- My (bad) Handwriting
-
Remember when they forced us to write in cursive when we were in sixth grade? And they told us that we were going to have to write in cursive for the rest of lives? That our teachers weren't going to accept work if it wasn't written in cursive?
Yeah, that never happened. As a result, I'm still not sure how to write in cursive. But my handwriting still has a look of cursive to it, a lot of the words flow together.
Also, after living in Ukraine for as long as I did, there is a definite cyrillic influence on the way I form certain letters now. My 'm' for example is pointed instead of round and for a long time a would draw my d's as g's. I still make that mistake every once in a while.
If it were a font- it would be called Hurried Penstroke.

- The Oldest Thing I Own
-
I've got a couple old books. That's pretty much it.
I own at least one book that was published in the early 1900s. I'm not sure I have anything more antique than that, other than rocks that I've gathered from various places abroad.
I'm not much for antiques. They remind me of being at old people's houses, where I wasn't allowed to run and frolic as a kid. I'm not very gentle with things either, so maybe it's a good thing I don't have any antiques.
