    • Why I gave up on "Die Blechtrommel"

      • I know it's a classic, but I just couldn't stand the style of writing. I started reading it on a backpacking trip to Greece. I ran out of books to read so I borrowed this from the friend I was travelling with. I had nothing else to do during long hours on trains and boats, so I kept reading it on although I didn't like it at all. As soon as we came home, I was happy to abandon it :)
