    • I miss my friends from back home.
      • I moved away from Washington, DC over 3 years ago and miss my old gang a lot. I generally try to make a trek back there to visit every 6 months or so, but things don't always work out that way.

    • I remember
      • I think some of my first memories go as far as my nursery school days back in suburban Maryland. My folks and I lived in a small apartment and I would be picked up daily by people from the school in one of their 2 station wagons filled with kids every morning. Considering the distance of where we used to live and where my parents told me where the school was, it wasn't all that close. I think today, doing something like that is considered a luxury.

    • 5 things I can't do without for a year.
      • iTunes
If there isn't one thing that has kept me sane these past few years, it's got to be my (virtual) music collection. I'm more than obsessed with it. In my youth it would have been my records and cds, but these are different times, right??? Meanwhile, don't get me started with my id-tagging frenzy. LOL.

        Google Reader
Yep, it's my daily ritual of trolling the blogs to find music to download for my iTunes. Of course I BUY the music too ... erm, eventually. Other than looking for music, I just get my daily fill of BLOGS in general from personal to gossip to fashion, etc. I think I scan over 200 blogs in one way or another.

        Facebook/Twitter
It's all about finding out what your friends (known or NOT) are doing at any given moment, what they're eating, where they're going, what color their socks are .... I JUST NEED TO KNOW, ALRIGHT?

        Sunglasses
Cuz you gotta wear shades. Duh.

        Rice
It's an asian thing. Trust me.

    • Flip mino, please.
      • I want one!

        Flip Mino HD: Box

I've always been sort of a gadget geek over the years. Of course what was shiny and new then, ain't all that now! Can you say mini-disc, 8mm digital video, (non apple) mp3 players, (less than 3-megapixel) digital cameras, palm pilot ... palm pilot phone???!!!??? Nowadays it's just getting too expensive trying to keep up with it all. Although, I didn't step onto the iPhone bandwagon, I did, however, get me an Android G1 Google phone instead. Eyeluvit! The only shortcoming is that video isn't currently an option for it yet. The whole open source programming for the Android platform is just way too over my head. All I know is that people are working on it ... all with appropriate upgrade fees I'm sure!

Anyway, the new hotness for me now is portable video. I used to have a basic digital video camera that had video capability. Although it was small enough to carry around, it was too bulky to fit in your pocket. I noticed that the Flip Mino was kind of the big newish thing over the Christmas holidays. (Blog friend Enda has one and he's posted a few entries with it.) I like the fact that it is small and has all kind of neat options ~~ it's customizable even! The price isn't (too) expensive either . Starting at $179.99 for basic model and $229.99 for an HD version. It's just kind of hard digging into an empty piggy bank if you know what I mean. I'm now taking applications for any/all benefactors. Sorry, no checks but PayPal is accepted. LOL. :-P

      • Wow by Kylie Minogue

I just love it. Everyone just knows that I'm a pop-music sucker. Kylie is sooo under appreciated here in the US.

        Be Near Me by ABC

This came out when I was still in high school and is permanently imprinted in my mind because of the cool "groovy" video. It's funny how great pop songs are actually kinda sad. <3

        Handle Me by Robyn

Robyn is probably the only artist I've actually made it a point to follow this past year. She's great live and this particular song is just so SASSY!
