      • Las Vegas is my Land of Oz

        Las Vegas Strip

I was not born or raised in Las Vegas but I will always consider it my home town.Vegas is a city that is like no other I have ever been too. If you are bored then it is because you did not get out there and explore all the things the city has to offer and a whole lot of it is free.
Fremont street has free concerts, Mt.Charleston offers free movies and concerts in the summer and it is usually 20 degrees cooler in the summer time on the mountain.
Boulder City offers a wonderful park and small town living that is gambleing free.
Casino's offer free things and if you don't mind paying, then the sky is the limit of what you can do.
Sam's Town is fun, and then my favorites are the Station Casino's because of the food and friendly atmosphere. The strip has changed but it is still the place to go for entertainment,
The shows, indoor and out, the fun of watching tourists.
What about Red Rock Canyon that is just so beautiful.
Vegas will always be home for me no matter where I am.

    • Be careful what you wish for
      • Why is it so hard for me to accept or ask for help?

International Money Pile in Cash and Coins

        Money.
I hate to borrow money and I hate to ask for money, even if it is just a dollar. I always pay back more than what I borrow. I always follow it up with something else as a thank you.
It is hard for me to ask for any kind of help. I think that it is the way that I was raised. If I did not have the money for it I either had to earn it myself or I had to do without it.
I believe in paying my way and it has made me a little stronger in staying with in my budget.
I also hate asking for favors because favors are not something that is easily paid back. In my experience favors come with strings attached. "Well remember when I did that favor for you back in 1999, well now it is time to pay me back." And those kind of favors are usually not good ones to begin with and if you have to pay it back then it is probably something that you do not want to do or be involved with, so I think really long and hard before I ask for a favor.
I don't mean the kind of favor like my car is broke down can you give me a ride to the store kind of favors, but the kind of favor that you know will put you in the hotseat in the future.
I also think that it is so hard for me because I may not be able to pay back in a timely manner. It is important for me to pay back money that I borrow and I hate that it may take me longer to pay it back. So that may be why it is so hard for me.

        christmas tree

I love Christmas. I love shopping for that perfect gift for each of my children. I love the anticipation of wrapping it and putting it under the tree and anxiously awaiting for when my children and loved ones will get to unwrap while I snap pictures and dish out hugs and kisses as well as all time favorite foods.
I love seeing the kids drive up and pile out of the car, I love the noise as they come rambling in the house, I love hearing everyone talking all at once.
I love it all.... Thanksgiving is special but Christmas is my favorite.

    • Let Me Tell You....
      • Is speaking my mind worth it?

Word Cloud of Obama's speech to Congress

Clearing the air is important when it affects relationships and when it is affecting me personally. Sometimes saying what I feel is beneficial because it lets me get it out in the open and to quit stewing on it.
Sometimes someone will say something to me and I will end up thinking about that comment for days and let it go by all the while wishing that I had said something back to them, clear the air or stir up more dust.
I do not like confrontation for the most part, but sometimes I will jump right in there and defend myself if I have too.
I really wish that I was a blunt spoken person. That if someone or something bothered me that I just opened my mouth and let it fly.... I am working on it.

    • Until Divorce Do Us Part
      • Walking away was a hard decision

        Divorce and Children

When two people get married they think that it should be forever. I did not enter my marriage with forever after in the plan. I am not sure what I was thinking, but it was not how I should have felt.
I had a little nagging doubt in the back of my mind and it surfaced often before I ever stood in that little church with family and friends and before God and pledged my vows.
I could see myself in the movie Runaway Bride years later when it came out. If I had seen that movie before I married then perhaps I would have ran away too.
The marriage was never what I would call happy. It had it's moments. Moments that were happy like when the children were born, and events revolving around the kids made me happy.
I don't think anything ever made him happy. Not even the kids.
At any rate, after 19 years I knew that I couldn't stay any longer. It was not a decision that just affected me, but also 5 kids who didn't understand just how much my decision was going to affect them.
        Will I ever marry again?
No I don't think that I will ever make that kind of commitment again. Not that I have anything against marriage, but for me I just do not need it. I am happier without it. I really am.
