I was probably 18 when I first started fooling around on the campus internet. Honestly, at that time the bulk of what we could do was very limited, but I made sure to explore it every day and figure out different ways to make use of my time on the college server....
First and foremost was the bulletin board function through NWMSU. I have no idea what it was called, but it was a very simple chat service where I was able to find a lot of people who shared my interests at that time (surprisingly finding new music artists, talking about Nirvana/Smashing Pumpkins, etc). Very rudimentry email functions with my professors who were kicking and pulling at every step of the way. And lastly, newgroups...lol. I smile because these got me so many friends, able to start amassing my bootleg collection, trade horror books...but really it was like the wild west in a sense. Really an early version of twitter almost.
That is it--I was one of the few that new how to chat in all my classes in college that were working on the "computer" to learn excel, word, etc so I had lots of fun and was able to get through that mundane content with a smile.

It is very, very low key. A state park with some hiking trails where directly in the center you can stop and listen---and hear nothing. I have always loved this feeling, like you are the only person for miles and the silence that exists at that moment. Granted, there are other noises that you might hear (animals, if lucky some wind blowing tree branches, etc), but how often can you say that you hear, truly hear that silence? I think we all need to take more time to stop, listen and think about what is important in life---this is one of my ways!

one of the better sandwiches in San Francisco
I am not picky--It would honest to God be with my family in my childhood home and have my Dad make his "sub" sandwiches. It was rare that my Dad made anything in the kitchen, but when he made these---I remember asking for the sandwiches every day of every week!

IF you really want to see me laugh--and I mean laugh out loud for a very long period of time, then show me something where a person is shocked or surprised. Confused? Think of teh prank call show Crank Yankers...when you hear the pause on the other end of the phone when someone is trying to quickly come back with a response---that kills me! Of course the other all time favorite to the dismay oof my wife is Jackass---I mean who comes up with some of that stuff---you just dont get to see that every day! Off Road Tattooing, stun gun maze! CLASSIC!!

I would love to be a part of some of the growth areas overseas. Maybe not even that, but experience life in another culture and be able to say I did it it my life. Where would that be, wow...The easist response I guess would be somewhere in Europe because of how easy the transition should be relatively easy...?
Moving to Japan or South America---wow--that would be one of the areas that would allow for the HUGE culture shock, but in the end would be well worth it! Am I dissatisfied in USA--no, but hey, we all can dream right!
