      • In response to: "If you were in a movie right now, what music would be playing?" It's a tie between Adrian Johnston's 'A Game of Cricket" (great emotion) from the Becoming Jane soundtrack and Ingrid Michaelson's 'Be Ok'. (Because we all want to be ok :) )

    • Chocolate or Vanilla?
      • Vanilla of course! Don't get me wrong, I am a big chocolate fan. I have to be, since I'm a part of my mom's family. But there is something about vanilla that I love. Whenever I go to Starbucks, I always get a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino. The way vanilla is a light, simple flavor is what makes it my favorite. Chocolate has its place in candy and cakes, but in anything ice cream or milk based, Vanilla is the way to go. :)

    • Three Overplayed Songs I Love Anyway...
      • This was a bit of a difficult list for me, just because I'm one of those people that songs get stuck in my head and then I get them from iTunes and play them too.... Also I had to examine which songs I listen to are truly 'overplayed'. For example I really love Adele's Chasing Pavements, but that's not overplayed on the radio, just on TV dramas. And I love 'Be OK' from Ingrid Michaelson, but they are overplayed in commercials as well. So, I picked the ones that are overplayed on proper music outlets (VH1 videos and radio), rather than just on commercials.

Honorable mentions to Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream', Lady Gaga's 'Telephone' and 'A Game of Cricket' from the Becoming Jane soundtrack (NBC abuses it in every sports montage about hope or dreams... basically every horse race they air)

Dog Days Are Over by Florence + the Machine

Florence + the Machine is one of my favorite new bands, and this song is really overplayed... one Saturday I heard it playing at Target over one of the sample radios, and then not a half hour later I heard it in Schnuck's grocery while picking up the vegetables. I still do a little happy dance when I hear it. :)

The Man Who Can't Be Moved by The Script

Chelsea and I listened to this every morning her Junior year.. not because we owned the CD, but because it was on VH1's morning video mixes without fail. We own the CD now, because we liked the beats of the songs, but I remember it playing EVERYWHERE for a good chunk of time.

        Boston by Augustana

Now, I love Augustana. Chelsea and I went to see them live in Nashville, and they might come to my school this year for Sunset concert. But this song was on every pop or light rock station imaginable, and then any of those shows with pop song soundtracks featured it too (think Scrubs and Grey's Anatomy). I still sing along to it in the car. :)

    • Yes - I Went Digital
      • Amazon Kindle eBook Reader

I already own a Kindle, and I love it. I like being able to carry so many books without killing my back, and that I can read samples of a book from my living room instead of driving to a bookstore. The e-ink doesn't hurt my eyes like a computer screen, so it's great for all those PDFs I have to read for class. I've started to get caught up on all those great classics you're supposed to read while I ponder my first e-book buy (There are so many free books I haven't had to pay yet!)

Yes, I know I sound like a commercial. But when I was in England, I missed books since I was so limited in what I was able to bring. I broke down and had to buy one at WHSmith to supplement the few I managed to pack and the library books that couldn't leave the manor. If I had a Kindle last year, it would have been so much easier (even if I would have had to plug it in to transfer books because I was overseas).

I will confess, though, when I have my own place, I'm still going to decorate with books. Coffee table books, and my travel books from Europe and Chihuly glass collection books..... I still love books. For example, there is no e-book edition of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. Needless to say, I just bought the new hardcover edition. (Great book, by the way. Go read it!)

I love my Kindle, but I'll never forget the real thing. :)

"If you give a child a bedtime story, she'll probably want a book, and if you give her a book, she'll probably want a shelf full of books, and if you give her a shelf full of books, she'll probably want...

        The World"

    • My Favorite Holiday Flick
      • When given this prompt, I typed "Muppet Christmas Carol" automatically. Then I thought harder about it. And I remembered Joyeux Noel.

It's a story about the Christmas Truce of World War I. You have to read more about the topic, or watch the movie itself, but it's one of those movies based on real life that makes you think that the human race might be OK after all.

If a war can stop for one day, maybe we can all stop arguing for a bit? Think about it?

Watch this movie, sleep on it, and get back to me. :)

    • The Funniest Thing I've Ever Heard a Child Say
      • Chocolate

When I worked for the Muse Machine in in High School as a Production Assistant on the yearly musical, there was a lot of younger students that, for lack of a better word, needed babysitting. Lula was our assistant choreographer at the time, and she had told one of our child actors not to eat any more candy at rehearsal, since it seems that was the only thing his parents ever sent with him in the afternoons.

About an hour later, this boy comes up to me looking bashful. This was a sterotypical child actor, who always seemed to get his way and threw regular fits about directions. He had a dark ring around his mouth and tells me that he just ate a chocolate bar, and asked me to not tell Lula. I then told him that I couldn't not tell Lula, because even if I didn't say anything to her she would know.

Then this little boy got a look of awe on his face and says to me 'She would know?! LIKE GOD?!'

I challenege my young little cousins to say something that clever!!
