Just last summer I was at a Colorado Rockies game. Being a wildly huge sports fan, those are very fun to me. The game was epic. It was against the San Francisco Giants, and went into the 13th inning. In the top of the inning the giants scored three runs. I thought the game was over, but I'm a very loyal fan so I was going to stay until the final pitch no matter what. As you can probably guess by now, the game was FAR from over. The Rockies loaded the bases, and up comes the relief pitcher (I believe it was Matt Belisle, but I don't remember). As you may know, relief pitchers almost never get the opportunity to bat in baseball. There were two outs at the time, and I was ready to salute the comeback attempt and go home. Well, the relief pitcher walked on four pitches, cutting the deficit from 3 to 2. The joint was jumping by this time, of course, and up comes Ryan Spilborghs. The tension was palpable, and on the first pitch of the at-bat, he gets a fastball in the middle of the plate, puts a mighty swing on it and hits it out for the first walk-off grand slam in the club's 17 year history. I was jumping and hollering for a solid minute, and giddy for the rest of the night, as was everyone else who stayed till the bitter end.
