My life would make a great action-adventure movie

Even though I attempt to be funny sometimes, I'm hardly a riot. I love action and adventure films and do a lot of mountain hiking.

I once got lost on my third mountain of a long day hike (over 15 hours straight) and had to spend the night on the mountain with hardly any gear. There's more to the story, but I hardly want to tell the world on Plinky that I was forced against my will to spoon with my friend on a makeshift bed of ferns. That would just make me look gay.

Anyway, aside from hiking, I love to be on the water in a kayak, canoe, or crew boat. Boats with motors are for lazy people.

I've jumped my fair share of bridges. I'm not going to lie, though, I've had to get my friends to push me off on occassion. Does that make me lame?

Everyone tries to be funny. Drama is for women. Sci-fi is for dreamers, but not the cool dreamers, the geeky type. Other is for people who have no direction. Action-adventure has got to be it.

The fashion is good and it is a little bit cheaper than Gap. It's stylish without being preppy. Basically, I think that anybody between 18 - 45 should shop there for clothes. If you're obese, don't bother. They don't have clothes in your size.

Even my de-stressing is done with fervence and determination. That does not make me unable to relax, but marks my character as a driven individual. I hike with vigor on the weekends. When I go biking, I am often many miles along the path and often ponder relativity, relationships, and goals. Am I meeting them, am I remembering them all, is there room to improve? How am I treating my family? Friends? Co-workers?

When I am free to think ever-so-slightly less will be the day I have graduated with an engineering degree and am financially stable. Until then, my mind is a zoo of thought. One cannot associate a lack of thinking with relaxation. That said, I occassionally attempt to meditate but I often drift into thought even during those times.

I like to grab coffee or tea with a friend and go for a walk with our cups in hand. You truly get to know somebody face-to-face, not over the phone or on a computer screen. You get invited into someone's heart when you look at them and listen and let yourself relax, not thinking of your next statement or rebuttal. Talk is hugely relaxing for me.

And then there's the less prestigious form of relaxation, TV. Give me Numb3rs, Dollhouse, Lie to Me, CSI, NCIS, or 24 and I am in heaven. I only watch these shows once my work is done for the day (job, school, phone calls, consulting, working out). I watch TV when I feel that I've earned it.

People-watching! I travel a lot so I like to watch the world go by. People are fascinating. I hear accents and see different styles of clothing and I wonder where they came from. I like it when I sit next to somebody in the airport and we have a random conversation about who-knows-what.

I used to have an outie belly button. I've lifted weights extensively for my whole life. Last year, I developed a minor hernia in my belly button. After the surgery, I now have an innie. Sweet deal, right?!

My shoes show my concerned personality. I am a non-scuff-ist. I was going to be a vegetarian, but I like meat and animals taste good in my mouth. So... I decided on a pair of non-scuff shoes.

They're Rockports. That means they're not WalMart shoes but they're not Gucci shoes. They're modest living-within-your-means office worker shoes because that happens to describe me.

They are quietier than dogs and they tend not to knock as much of your things over when they wag their tail. Plus, they're easy to throw (just kidding).

Truth be told, I'm not an animal person at all. I'm really just into humans and everything else is gross and icky.

People who talk the talk without walking the walk offend me. The walk is much more worthy. Sure, it's hard. Sure, it's a real pain. Sure, you have to give up those temporary pleasures of which you're so fond. So what? Why say you are about love; about being "real" when you're just trying to be a people pleaser... always seeking out the affection that drives you? Where does that land you? When the short-term relationships fade away, what do you have? Have you maintained yourself? Can you stand on your own two feet? Stop being fake and be real.

Does the island have a chip fab plant, electricity, and other technology? If not, take me home. Being an aspiring computer enginner / electrical engineer, there's no way I'd stay on the island.

Although, if it was a special somebody I got stuck with, I'd consider telling the ship to come back for a year. It would have to be a really really special someone, though.

I've always wanted to build a massive treehouse.
