Big Fat Road Manager by The Arrogant Worms
Why? I think that this is the only song that I have ever embarrassed myself by singing karaoke to. Mr Hogg, Mr Timms, Mr Illsley... you've all got a lot to answer for!
Why? I think that I might just know all the words to this song (but probably can't hit all the notes).

Eastern Standard Tribe by Cory Doctorow... a book I started reading but never quite finished...
I stopped because I had a one-time-only take-it-or-leave-it book swap offer. I was just a chapter from the end of the book but I was only one day into my holiday. Even though I really wanted to finish the book I spotted a book swap point just as we were about to leave the hostel in Berlin. I had only one book so it was a case of swap an unfinished book or risk finishing it minutes later and not have another book for 2 weeks! On the shelf sat a book by Charles Stross, whom I had never heard of but the plot sounded good. I had just made my mind up to keep with Eastern Standard Tribe (risking certain boredom when I finished on the train from Berlin to Warsaw) when I saw that the intro was from none other than Cory Doctorow himself... so I swapped. It was a good choice - but now all I need to do is get that final chapter!

There's an amazing beach there and it would make for a great place to escape to.
