my dad's pet name for me was kaykay (which in his dialect, i believe is "broomstick") because i was a skinny kid. REALLY skinny. my aunt called me "yakyak" which is my nick backwards, then it was "yaki" (not because i was yuckee), but generally it was kay. In grammar school, everybody'd call me kaye and mispronounce my nickname. i discovered a clothing brand (rusty lopez) called, "kai" and i thought i'd change my nick's spelling to K-A-I. /end of story
