    • The One Who Got Away...Not Exactly
      • Perhaps I'm odd. Perhaps some may think I'm dumb. Perhaps some may even think I'm stupid. I am not the norm, but I am me and that person did not have a boyfriend until I graduated college. I met him my last quarter of school and knew right away that he was something special and I was not going to let him get away. But he tried.

We dated for a month before he realized that he needed to be fully over his ex-girlfriend. In the time when we were just friends, I remained just that. A friend. I did not want him to forget me, and I was there for him when he needed to talk or just hang out. I missed the boyfriend aspect but was determined to be his friend. Subconsciously, I think he didn't want to me to be the one who got away. It took 6 months, some tears on my part, a few failed dates on his, but he finally was able to fully commit to a new relationship with me.

We dated for a year and a half before he proposed and now we are married. I always knew he was the One and that no matter how he tried to get away, he wasn't able to leave. I am lucky, for I have never had to think about what if's and wonder about the one who got away.

    • Best Friends?
      • Throughout my life, I have had best friends, but it always seemed that I was not the only best friend for that person. As an example, I remember one of my first best friends went to my school because her mom worked there, but lived in a different area, so she had a best friend at home and at school. Throughout elementary school, junior high and high school, even college, it always seemed that I was always a second best friend to my friends.

But now, finally, I have my own best friend. My husband. I finally have a person with whom I can say with certainty that I am his best friend, as he is mine. Hands down, he is the person who is there for me day in and day out, no matter my mood, no matter if we are arguing. I know that he will always be there for me. He is goofy and lovable. We are so similar, yet our differences make no difference because our love and admiration for each other is strong.

    • My Weirdest Pet Peeve
      • I work in a pharmacy and get asked lots of crazy questions. These are the best.

I have a few weird pet peeves. First, when a person with whom I have been having a conversation and answered a question replies, "Really?" Yes, I am trying to deceive you and give you a false answer. I honestly have no reason to lie to you so why would you have the need to ask really. Most times "really" has been said in a conversation? I believe it was 11 times. Seriously, people, when we tell you Tylenol has been recalled for almost 8 months, don't reply with "Really?!?" It has been all over the news since it happened. We can't be the only people who know.

The second weird pet peeve is when I am standing behind the pharmacy counter (which I have to walk through a door to get to), asking someone if they need help and they ask, "Do you work in the Pharmacy?" Um, no, the store just lets me come in and stand here for pleasure. Of course I work in the pharmacy! Common sense people! It's different if they ask if I'm a pharmacist (I am not), but to ask me as I physically stand in the pharmacy, where the store colors, if I work there. Come on.

Phew. That feels a lot better.
