I want to do both!
The times I've been indoor rock climbing I've loved it. When we were driving through Switzerland on Contiki in 2008 I proclaimed that I wanted to climb the Swiss Alps at some point. Fast forward 3 years, and since then I've climbed the 'nativity wall' at the quarries and abseiled the 'nativity wall' and the largest cliff they let us use on the day.
Move forward to 2010 when I took up running - the thought being that at some point I'd run a half marathon. I ran that half marathon in August 2011, and am now considering a marathon in 2012.
Why do I want to do both? It's that sense of achievement and accomplishment you get at the end that I want... that I chase.....
(And yes, that is me in the red shirt)

- A Fear I'm Working to Overcome
-
This year seems to be the year I get over my fear of public speaking.
At the beginning of the year I nominated to be involved in a local government management challenge - and part of this has involved doing speeches to large groups of adults. In the past I've been a primary school teacher and a children's librarian, so I'm accustomed to talking to groups of 30 kids, but to 30 adults - that's another story.
The challenge mean that I have given talks to or participated in presentation which have involved up to 50 people. I've discovered I'm getting less flustered and nervous each time.
Earlier this year, I was asked to give a speech at a friends wedding. A group of 70 people, where I knew maybe 10. I managed. I was stoked when I finished. I felt even better when someone I didn't know, approached me afterwards and told me I'd given a beautiful speech. That just made my day!
Next up, working with a team of people to deliver a training programme to about 150 people in one hit.....
I'm just pushing my fear to the extreme!

- Oh, for three more hours

1.5 hours would be for sleep as I don't have anywhere near enough time for that (last night was 5 hours, but at least I slept that night). The other 1.5 hours would need to be split between my husband and work

- 2009 Internet Fools' Day

The best April Fools I saw this year was the report that someone had vandalised the top of the Perth Convention Centre by writing "G'Day from WA" on it. Gotta admit I was sucked in, and was disappointed when the article stated the graffiti was going to be cleaned off by midday - it actually makes the building look better!
