Avril! I simply adore my middle name. It is unique, but I do get a little frustrated hearing people pronounce it Av-ruhl when I pronounce mine Ayv-ruhl. Part of the reason I like it is because it is refreshingly unique in both itself AND its spelling. :)

Pop culture. I say it is popular for a reason! Everyone is so afraid to be like everyone else that they take on this feeling of pop culture is bad and evil and watered down and worthless. I say pop culture fosters a sense of community and togetherness. I cannot help it if I find myself wanting to get up and dance to modern music--it is so catchy! I cannot help it if I like all my movies to have happy or otherwise satisfying endings--it is just a story, it does not HAVE to reflect real life! I think people have actually become dishonest about who they really are in an effort to appear like they are unique. I say shame on those people. It is too much effort to be anyone but myself.
