- If I Could Take Any Class for Free
-
At this very moment it would be an illustration class. I'm working on my drawing skills. But at any other given time it would vacillate between math, computer science, and video/animation classes. Also, the occasional writing, history, philosophy or systematic theology class would be nice. I so should have been a perpetual student.

- My road-trip mix tape

A driving beat that pushes your foot down, interesting, but not distracting music, these are the requirements of a good road trip song.
A "best of" Queen and Creedence Clearwater Revival are the two required albums for a cross country trip. But it's hard to think of a third band that consistently meets the prerequisites. There's hundreds of songs that could go there: REM, Weezer, The Aquabats, Barenaked Ladies, Fountains of Wayne, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Dandy Warhols, all have a lot of good music, but none of them are quite as perfect for the open road as CCR and Queen.
Down On The Corner by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Like most of CCR's stuff, the beat, the hint of the south make it perfect for a cross-country drive.
Under Pressure by Queen feat. David Bowie
Huge, anthemic, dynamic music that keeps the pedal down as the song carries you along.

- Top 3 Historic Events I've Experienced
-
The Horrible Capitalist Machine
1. The Challenger blew up. I was in 8th grade, so I was 12.
2. The Berlin Wall fell (and all of the USSR). I was 18.
3. 9/11. I was 28.
Seems like we're due for another historical event.

- What's Worth Waiting in Long Lines
-
Prisoners taken in the advance waiting for rations
Three things? I live in America, not some second or third-world hell-hole where necessities are parceled out. I won't wait in line for food or water, there's too much of it around. I don't have to wait in line for a toilet or medical care. There's no war I need to escape from.
Which leaves only the silly things that we choose to make important. While I like video games, I can wait a couple extra days for them to arrive in the mail instead of camping out. I think that early adoption of devices is too expensive and annoying, so I won't wait in line for the latest gadget. I'll get it after a couple of service packs or updates have been released.
The only thing I think of right now is The Lord of the Rings movies (including the upcoming Hobbit movies). I waited in line for about two hours for those on opening night, and am willing to wait again. Other than that, forget it. There's nothing I need or want that badly.

- Optimist or Pessimist?
-
Propane Explosion in North Toronto
A cynical optimist, perhaps? I don't think I'm generally negative, but I don't expect a lot either. I manage my expectations and that keeps a lot of disappointment out of my life.
I expect the worst from people. Inadvertently, or purposefully, they will lie, fail to keep their word, talk about you behind your back and hurt you. Just count on it. Should you happen to know someone who hasn't, give them time.
On the other hand, I tend to think situations will work out, minus the drama that people bring to them. The economy, the culture, society, this trouble that I'm facing now, it'll work out for the better in the end.
I know people that think the opposite of me, who are always surprised when people let them down and think the world is going to heck in general, and they seem to be more frequently disappointed and upset by life, so I like to think my viewpoint is the better one.
