      • In response to: "If you could be a member of any band, what would it be?" I would most definitely be a member of an indie folk band. Something along the lines of Tegan and Sarah or Young America. :) I like this music a lot, it inspires me.

Title song [that is ironically playing in the background]: "Everything Is Alright" by Motion City Soundtrack

I was worried for a moment. It's supposed to snow big time here tonight, therefore canceling school for the day. This wouldn't normally bother me, as I attend college in a different state.

However, currently I am on winter break. And during this winter break, I had one week [out of a possible two] to complete a 30-hour-straight classroom observation that's required for my major. If it were to snow tonight [which in fact it now is], and cancel school tomorrow [which it in fact did, 3 hours before the snow even started], I would have to do the 'practicum' on my Spring Break.

Well, I was stressed about school being cancelled, because I would be forced to give up my Spring Break. However, I've already spoiled the surprise. I'm fulfilling my requirement during my Spring Break. /sigh

Now, instead of apprehension, I feel disappointment. Does that count?

    • Ninjas, Pirates, and Fruity Sushi
      • Caryn's Candy Sushi

Well, you see the ninjas are expert fruit slicers, and the pirates only like seafood. And the land lubbers? Well, they liked to serve them both on silver platters, side by side. This became a delicacy in the land of Underpants-Hats, which became much sought after all over the world. The pirates and the ninjas wouldn't have that. So, the ninjas cut off the hands of the land lubber chefs, and the pirates stole all of their silver platters in the dead of night. This event effectively ended the serving of fruit and fish together on silver platters in the land of land lubbers.

    • My Novel...plus Spoilers.
      • Narcolepsy

This is actually one I'm trying to work on now, but school starts tomorrow, so we'll see how far I get.

Reed [one of three principle characters] is sitting in the local park one day, criticizing everyone, when he sees one man entering the park, half asleep, at the end of the leash of a huge, white dog. He thinks that's kindof strange, but the man disappears around a corner.
He digs deeper into his brain, thinking about his past, and about how numb his hands are becoming, when suddenly, the same dog he saw twenty minutes ago comes up to him and starts licking his hands - leash trailing behind him. He decides to go find his owner.
His owner, Jas, is sitting around the corner, lying on the bench. He's asleep, but wakes up when his dog [who doesn't exactly have a name yet...any suggestions?] rushes forward and starts licking his hand. This wakes him up in time to meet Reed.

Jas is homeless, so Reed decides to take him in. What they both don't realize is that their major disfunctions will eventually end up helping the other.
Jas has severe narcolepsy, and Reed is addicted to drugs.
And, because every good story needs a feminine touch, Reed's ex-girlfriend Anna befriends Jas, and it adds a really nice twist to the mix.

I'm not entirely sure how it should end, because at the moment, Reed dies at the end, but there's not much of a message or hope. That's the only thing I have still to work on. However, I'm committed to finishing it within the next school year, so maybe I'll just stumble across my ending one day. :D

I would advise myself not to fall in love...YET.

However, I am of the opinion that even if I could think of more things to tell my sixteen year old self, I probably wouldn't have listened then. xD

On the contrary, I would have LOVED to have a conversation with myself about God. I'd love to impart knowledge to my younger self about God and the Word, just so I could be more wise, and make better choices.
