        I used to be petrified of spiders, but living alone, you have to deal with things on your own.

        Besides, add in the remains of various creatures half-eaten by the cat, and spiders are a positive breeze. Unflappable now, me.

        Usually said by patronising bastards sticking their nose it where it doesn't belong.

        I don't hear it so much these days, having deliberately cultivated a fake semi-smile as my default retail work expression, my natural frown not being entirely suitable.

        And I only ever use it accompanied by a heavy layer of sarcasm. And full-body armour, just in case.
