    • My Opinion of Reality TV
      • Reality television is not really...real. Some of it is so obviously scripted; how fucking COINCIDENTAL are some situations really? And to have something so scandalous happen in every episode? PLEASE.

I am guilty of watching reality TV shows though, my favourite is Toddlers and Tiaras. It's actually really painful to see these batshit crazy moms force their own childhood dreams on their 3 or 4-year-olds and make them to (imo) unecessary "beautifying" measures like tanning, waxing, flippers and excessive amounts of gaudy makeup. Despite all this, I am like, morbidly curious as to who will win the Grand Supreme in each episode and if all the shit the moms put their little girls through was worth it.

I also really enjoy all the weird kids that say the craziest things, like McKenzie and Taralynn and not forgetting that Honey Boo Boo girl. The moms just rub me the wrong way though. They all have this plasticky sheen in their eyes as if their life was a pagaent show and treat their little girls as their commodities. It's especially degrading if the girls are specifically saying they don't want to do it but the moms are manipulating them into performing or into these beautifying rituals... ah well.

    • Recent Adventures in Splurging
      • I just bought two books from HMV yesterday!! But they were on sale so they only cost $30 (altogether!!) and that really isn't so bad.

Anyway the books I got were Haruki Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles and Kafka On The Shore. I know my parents would rather I borrow books from the library than spend money on them but I just COULD NOT find these books in the library at all!? They are ALWAYS on loan at my library and I'm sure as hell not going to travel to another neighbourhood's library just to check if they have the books...So I bought them v^^v

I find books to be a luxury because they're so unpredicatable and if you like the book and you think you'll be able to read them several times over then good, your money was well-spent. But what if you hated it?! And books are so expensive ugh. I learnt my lesson through Twilight; it cost me $20 and it was awful and now it's stuck collecting dust on my shelf. Maybe I'll donate it to the library or exchange it a book exchange.

    • How Music Affects My Productivity
      • Even though everyone else finds music a distraction, I find it pivotal to increasing my productivity levels! Any music I put on while I'm study just happens to turn into incidental music when I get into ~the zone~ and the words don't distract me either, I find pausing to jam and lip-syncing along to the words is a good way to disperse any stress or pressure I feel while studying!
