- Living Forever Equates to Being Forever Alone
-
Living an infinite life seems like an ultimate and extraordinary gift to us. It's like being one of those vampires we see on those cheesy Twilight movies. You know, like Edward Cullen or whatever his name is. I'm referring to the male fairy-slash-pixie-slash-vampire. Okay. Putting that aside, let's move on to serious business. Majority of us would probably want to live forever. The main reason? Still wanting to do and accomplish many things. But because there is always this balance in nature, there are those who also prefer the opposite.. who are already contented of having a limited lifespan.
If I were given the chance to live forever, I wouldn't take that chance.
Hear me out first before you tell me that I'm making a stupid choice.
Sure, living forever is such a nice privilege. First, I would definitely get to see the changes in society as the years go by. We can never deny the fact that all of us are curious of what's in store for us in the future, or what the next generations will be like. Second, if I could live forever, I'll get to taste the experiences that life has to offer. New experiences everyday surely makes life more exciting, right? So if I could live forever, I'd have unlimited excitement for everyday of my life.
Now, back to what I was saying before. If I could live forever, I would never grab that chance. Why? What sense would it be for me to live at this length of time if majority of the people I love don't exist anymore? Yes, I will get to meet more people who will eventually become important in my life. But, I'm talking about the classics here -- mom, dad, my brother, my sister, my special someone, my relatives, my best friend, etc. etc. etc. You can never say that these persons can be replaced. That's just a fraudulent statement. Hey, living alone is not easy. Days come and go. Yes. People come and go. Yes. But there significance only comes but never goes.
If I were to live forever and they're not around anymore, I don't think that I'll be able to enjoy all the other great stuff that life has to offer. I might sound like a dependent child now, but, can you blame me? My happiness lies on their existence. Without them, everything else would be a complete blankness. An empty space. A single color. Black.

- Waves Are Nature's Music to My Ear
-
Every individual who exists in this planet has personal preferences. These preferences can range from the simplest to the most complex kinds of things. One of them would be "sound" preference. We cannot deny the fact that each of us have our favorite sounds. I know I have mine. If you're curious enough, it would be the sound of RUSHING WAVES.
If you ask me why I like it so much, it's because whenever I hear it, I feel like I'm being taken to a place where tranquility dominates. For me, nothing could be as peaceful as hearing the sound of rushing waves. It makes everything natural in my perspective. It's one of those unique sounds that nature has to offer.
Hearing rushing waves washes away my problems or bad memories. It clears up my mind. In other words, it gives me this so-called "peace of mind." At the same time, it also brings me ecstasy. It makes me excited, since every time I get to hear this, it reminds me that I'm going to or I'm in a special place. And that special place for me would be the ocean or the beach. Admit it. Whenever you hear this, you get excited and think about all the fun you'll be having, right? Rushing waves are like rolling laughter. It's a source of peace and happiness from within.

- Mulan: The Childhood Movie that Made Me Go "OMG! So good."
-
Who doesn't love this Asian Disney movie anyway? Step out and I'll give you a huge slap on the face. Mee keedeen hunee. =] Read on.
I have always loved Mulan from childhood up till now. Why? There is a simple reason behind it. I consider Mulan as the most meaningful and the most sensible Disney classic movie ever created. Yes. It does have fictional circumstances in it, let's say, it somehow involves objects of the impossible (i.e. the talking dragon) but you would have to agree on the fact that it's not the usual, cheesy kind of fairytale story. It exhibits bravery and for the very first time, I have witnessed a female lead character do men's role, which, by the way, doesn't occur in other Disney classic movies. From this movie, as a child, I grew up believing that women are also capable of doing things that most think only the masculine section of society can. Mulan exhibits what a true woman is.
Now, I'm telling Cinderella, Snow White, Princess Aurora and all other Disney princesses in distress to take after her steps. If the rest were like her, the evil witch wouldn't be that much of a problem.

- The Big Wish: What I Really Want for A Gift (in case you're wondering)
-
A lot of people have asked me what I want for a gift. Most of the time, it only leads to one answer: "It's up to you. I'd take anything you'll give me." Well, duh, of course I wouldn't have the guts to tell them what I want. I guess that's just unethical and it wouldn't be a surprise anymore. After all, effort counts a lot, right? But what do I really want? Okay, I'll give you a revelation.
As a human being, I do have something I want for a gift. No, it's not world peace or any of those cliches (though that would be nice). Like the rest, I crave for material things too. :) Something that could be touched, that could be kept.
So here it is.
Topping my gift wish list is..
A FLUFFY KITTEN with A SWEET LETTER FOR ME HANGING FROM ITS COLLAR!
Seriously. I want a kitten. And nothing could be better than one delivering you a really heart-touching letter, whether it's from your parents, friends, relatives or better, someone really special to you - a crush or your boyfriend. Who wouldn't want a kitten like that? Aside from it being too cute and cuddly and easy to take care of, it also has a major significance. It has a sentimental value. It gives you something that will surely hang on to your memory.
I know this is not a simple gift. If it were that simple, I would have given it to myself, which, apparently, would be really sad. That's why it's in my wish list. For so many years now, ever since I've become a teenager, I have been secretly wishing for this. I didn't want to tell anybody because I just want someone to think of this. That would be more special, right?
But 4 years have passed and nobody has given me this yet. I wonder. Will someone ever do?

- The More You Play, The More You Make Me Love You
-
As we turn our radios or iPods on, we cannot avoid listening to that certain song lots of times. Maybe because it's the most requested or you're iPod's on shuffle that it always lands on that song. And then, we end up having this reaction: "Again? They're playing it again?". Okay, maybe not exactly that line but close. Deny or I'll slap you in the face. Just kidding. He he. So, for my list, here they are:
Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars
Come on, only people who don't have a sense of appreciation "hate" this song. Almost everyone loves Just the Way You Are. Who couldn't resist that suaveness of Bruno Mars' song? I could listen to this all day.
No doubt, this is one of the overplayed songs in 2008. The usual initial reaction of listeners would be, "how many times do they have to play 'Leavin' in a day?" Despite this, admit it. Every time you hear that catchy tune of the song's intro, you cannot resist moving your head to it or singing along with it.
Okay. This song is waaaay beyond awesome. So, I think it's good that it's overplayed. Aside from its catchy tune, it also has meaningful lyrics. I say, that music produced by the ukelele is simply irresistible!
