The worst teacher I had was a Math teacher. Some bad luck had moved him away from research to teaching. Formalism was all that counted for him. Even you got the correct result, he would always find some formalism which you had neglected - in his eyes, that is. We had to correct our tests after he had gone through them and given a grade. And then a correction of the correction. And three months later a correction of the correction of the correction. Normal life was beyond his scope, no empathy with his pupils. He had a detrimental influence on the school career of many pupils. - But now, some 45 years later, he has become a friendly, white-haired old man nice to talk to.

The Chinese "I-Ging" book of changes 易經 / 易经 . It consists of 64 symbols which charaterize situations and predict where they lead. Too bad that the attribution of a situation to a character is purely superstitious, depending on random events like drawing a number while asking a question.
