        Biplane NC9756, Radial Engine

        It was the fall of 1998. I was in Munich, Germany and about to end a vacation and fly back to Canada. The airline I was booked to fly home on was just ending a pilots strike and they were busy trying to get planes and pilots to where they were needed. I managed to make it to Frankfurt but once I got there the planes available were already full. I was flying to Ottawa. The airline put me on an Air India flight to Chicago then on a bus to Toronto then another bus to the Toronto Island Airport and a plane back to Ottawa. The total travel time was something in the range of 40+ hours and was the worst. The Air India 747 I was on had arrived late from Mumbai and it looked like the cleanup crew had maybe not had enough time to get it ready for the Chicago flight. Air India? Never again.
