- 2011 Goals and Achievements
-
This year has been a year of growth for me. The past year I was in a really unhappy place. At the beginning of the year I set a goal to move into my first apartment. I just love having a space to call my own. I only found one place that was in my price range. Which is the apartment I went with. I was blessed with someone who really gave me the encouragement and motivation to achieve what I wanted. This is one of the first major goals that I have achieved. I know there are greater things to come just in this year alone. Super Duper Excited about my new life!

- Letters to a Young Jerk
-
A letter to the biggest jerk in my high school....
Sup,
Years ago when we were in high school.. you constantly made fun of me and had nothing but negative things to say.... because of you and your little busted crew, I developed low self esteem. I hated you and the other kids so much that I left high school and was homeschooled.
Welll.... I just want to thank you.. tremendously.
Why do I thank you?
Because since I was homeschool... I graduated an entire year early ( at the age of 16)... Then went off to college that fall (still age 16).
If you didn't do and say all those hurtful things, I never would have got the head start that I needed and wouldn't be where I am now!
Oh and I saw your facebook page. looks like your doing pretty well.. I see your still living in the same small town, living with your parents... and hanging with the same losers.. WOW your doing sooooo much better than me. I mean im 19 and a year away from graduating with a bachelors degree, living in a condo right in the middle of downtown Atlanta,... and just starting my own business. You definitely came out on top!..... (they call me the king of sarcasm lol)

- Giving is What I Want to be Remembered For
-
This is the EASIEST question for me. The number 1 thing I want to be remembered for is my giving heart. Yeah I want to do great things in my photography and teaching career, but GIVING beats it all!
a while ago one of my friends was getting evicted from here place. She didn't have any money to get back to her hometown.. But she was so hopeful and KNEW the money was going to come from somewhere. The night before she had to be out, i visited her room and chilled with her. I listened to her talk and she was 100% hopeful that she would get home. I was so touched by her positivity, that I took out my wallet and gave her all the cash I had. She bursted into tears and gave me the biggest hug! She was sooo happy, but I was even more happy than she was. That was the most amazing feeling that I have EVER felt. And when I become successful in my careerS, I want to give on even larger levels. Not boastfully, but straight out of the heart. GIVING IS AMAZING!

- Worrying.. The Ultimate Waste of Time.
-
Question: What are your tips for saving time?
The easiest answer to this question is, STOP WORRYING. I've spent sooo much time worrying about things.. and its funny... the things that I worry about always seem to turn out just fine.....I have a perfect example!
When I started high school we began taking "Family Life" classes on the regular. We were learning about tumors and cancer one class. My teacher told us to take the time and examine our bodies and feel for lumps...(you can imagine where).. So I went in the bathroom and I felt for lumps. To my surprise, I actually felt something that my teacher would have described as "out of the ordinary". We learned that a tumor could grow and cause some major complications if not removed within a reasonable amount of time. But me... I was too proud to go to any doctor.. but more so was too embarrassed to tell my parents because of the area of my body where I felt the lump. For that YEAR I always had this thought in the back of my head that said "Your going to die before you get out of high school". I was super haunted by this thought. Every time I thought about my future I only pictured me in a hospital bed dying with cancer. I worried and worried and worried for a YEAR about this lump... but never did anything about it.
At this time in my life I began doing things that a 15 year should not be doing (I'll leave that to your imagination). One day my parents found out some of the things I had done and called me into their room. My mother was enraged with anger! I stood in front of them with my legs shaking.. BUT I guess to catch them off guard, I told them that I thought I had a tumor and needed to get it checked out (which I really did think I had one). So they forgot all about why they called me into the room (well kinda) LOL. We took a trip to the hospital a few days later. The examination involved an ultrasound and this wax stuff. It was the most awkward feeling to have wax on your balls.. I also found it very weird that I was looking at my "testicles" on this ultrasound screen..lol.. Well, within a couple of minutes the examination was over and the doctor said "honny, there is no tumor in there. its just a little extra fluid.. which is normal" You should have seen my face!!... instead of being filled with joy, I was almost upset that nothing was there..WHAT??! lol. I was so pissed at myself that a spent a YEAR crying and worrying about something that was "normal". Just imagine if I would have went to the doctor as soon as I discovered that I may have a tumor..Instead of worrying. I would have had a much more peaceful YEAR!

- My Favorite Forms of Creative Expression
-
Positron emission tomography image of a human brain
Creativity is such a MASSSSIVE word. Creativity can pretty much be anything. My favorite way of expressing my creativity is by sitting on the couch... watching documentaries. This doesn't sound much like an "expression" but it is. Every time I sit and watch a documentary Im learning something I didn't know before. Therefore my mind is racing a million miles a minute and begins to open other portals of my brain and I analyze EVERYTHING... then my mind starts this amazing journey called "thinking"
