    • One of the Best Photos I've Ever Taken
      • I took this picture in Ireland over Thanksgiving break my junior year of high school. There were a lot of really great pictures that came out of this particular day, but this one is my favorite.
This is in the Gap of Dunloe in/near Killarney National Park in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland. I could not stop taking pictures if I wanted to just because the scenery was so overwhelming, I just wanted to capture it all in my lens. This was also my first time using my Mom's new Olympus SLR and I was truly having a ball taking pictures.
The road was so curvy and convoluted to go around the great boulders of the pass that it seemed to overlap on itself, which is the type of shot I am most fond of. I like to look for angles of things like mesh and metal structure art or glass and take pictures of the objects overlapping themselves. This is one of the first pictures I took like this, and it started a passion in me for photography. To many more great pictures: may we all see through the lens that which we see in front of us.

    • My Favorite Place to Drive
      • No Pussies Allowed.

        Jetta

For my 250th post, I am answering a question from Plinky!

Driving is something I hold near and dear. I've nearly been killed too many times to count, usually with me at the wheel. I love to drive everywhere, especially in my home state of Maine (taste the Mainebow). As much driving as I've done in my life, which is quite a lot for a person my age, I would still say I like driving in my hometown of Cape Elizabeth, Maine more than anywhere else. There's the famous Shore Road with all its mansions, snaking up and down the rocky hills, but there's also the most underrated driving in Cape away from the ocean.

First, I'm gonna say that CAPE'S COPS ARE KINDA MEAN. I had to edit that a couple of times to be a little more accurate, but basically if you're a teenager, they will pull you over for just about anything and give you a thrice over when they get to your car. It really sucks, but its true. If you're speeding, good luck. I speed a lot and have never been pulled over by Cape cops but I know from friends that they aren't very forgiving (unlike my history teacher and the police officers where I live now). Basically you've gotta watch your back. They seem to be everywhere at once in the two cars they can have on patrol. This puts a bit of a damper on the driving experience but if you're smart and you can count to two, you can figure out where they are and aren't.

Second, talk about amazing driving. Most of the roads have been paved pretty recently and you're constantly surrounded by either trees or fields. There's lots of tight turns to throw your car into a ditch but there isn't anything too surprising to me since I've lived there most of my life. I love hugging them all the way around with the windows all the way down and playing my favorite summer tracks.

If you've never been, go to Portland sometime in your life. You'll love it. It's a twenty-something town, but there's plenty of older people if that's what you're looking for. More restaurants per capita than just about everywhere and a stones throw to the roads I just mentioned. Remember this: Shore Road, 77 coming from Scarborough, and Wells Road.

Get it, got it, good. Happy TWOFIFTY to me.

    • Dude! I Love Slang
      • Greasy Skillet

Fav slang is definitely homeskillet! I don't overuse it, nobody I know uses it, and its dooooope. Best when paired with other slang terms such as "aiight" to make "aiight, homeskillet."

    • A Fictional Character I'd Like to Hang Out With: Hobbes
      • I feel as though the philosophical tiger Hobbes and I would get along swell. The two of us would beat up Calvin, make a tree fort, and he would always be there for me when I got home from classes. He would maul the shit out of my roommate (and me on occasion) just because he thinks he's a tough guy, and he would protect me from all harm. Basically we'd be badasses of the world for twenty four hours. Paper hats and shit, fuckin' B.A.

    • Watch "Big Fish" next time you're home sick
      • Ewan McGregor is fantastic in this movie. It's really imaginative and fun, with a lot of interesting stories within the plot line. It isn't action-packed by any means, but I love it for what it is.
