    • When I realized I was a grown-up
      • In my mid twenties when I became a single mom to my then 3 year old little girl, the first time we spent the night in our new apartment. Up until that point my life was all about the wants, needs, desires, dreams and goals of another, with nothing left over for me.

That was the night my life became my own and I realized I had the awesome responsibility of creating a better life for both myself and my daughter. This was both thrilling and frightening at the same time.

For the first time in my life I had the opportunity to make my own decisions. I could put the toilet paper on the roll and fold the towels any way I pleased! I could create a more fulfilling life for myself and my little girl. I decided where we went from there and how to get there.

That was the night I realized I was an adult and I had the power within me to make it on my own.

    • If I could keep a wild animal as a pet
      • New baby

If I could keep a wild animal as a pet I would definitely choose a giraffe. Why? I see giraffes as survivors that have the ability to adapt to change, something I strive to do myself. I actually collect giraffes to remind myself that I can survive whatever life throws my way, and that I do have the inner strength and ability to adapt to change.

    • How I'd spend $1,000
      • Spend a long weekend in a cabin in the NC mountains! It is our dream to move to the NC mountains. It is such a beautiful place. Each time we visit it feels like I have finally arrived home, as if it is where I have always been meant to be. I feel as if my soul is being fed, and I feel more connected to God, to the spiritual woman within me.
