A penny with something besides the Lincoln Memorial on the back
Whether it's really old (wheat penny) or really new (a stage in Lincoln's life), most people don't look at the back of the lowly penny. But I think it's interesting when the Mint mixes things up a bit.

- Maybe one day I'll be good at cooking, sewing, and car repair
-
There are so many skills I would love to master, it's hard to pick one. The first that popped into my mind was cooking. I read Pioneer Woman's cooking blog and she makes amazing food every single day, often making up her own recipes! I wish I had all the know-how to be a master in the kitchen. I mean, I can put together a meal, but aside from a few simple recipes I'm good at, it usually involves a box from the pantry or freezer. Real cooking--the chopping, the peeling, the measuring, the sheer volume of dirty dishes I create--it's always such a production! And if there are multiple components to a meal, I can never get all of them to be done at the same time.
The other skill I would like to master is sewing. It would be soooo useful!
Maybe I need to go back to school and major in Home Ec?
But I'd also like to know how to fix my own car. Even if I couldn't actually DO all the things myself, it' be nice to know what needs to be done, so when I take it to a mechanic I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of.

- Fighting got me into trouble

I was a very well behaved child...er, at least I didn't get into trouble much. I do remember, though, one time in fourth grade when a disagreement with a classmate ended in fisticuffs. There was hitting and punching, and probably hairpulling, but I don't recall the specifics. I do recall being forced to sit in the principal's office with my opponent until we could work things out. We sat there for the longest time in silence. (My stubborn streak is not a recently developed trait.) Finally someone broke the ice--I don't remember who--and we were eventually allowed to go back to class. It took me a long time before I could control my mouth enough to avoid pissing people off!
