    • Holiday
      • Christmas! It isn't just the wonder of the religious holiday itself..and that is amazing...it's the getting-down of ornaments, tree, household decorations; deciding which theme for the year and planning all the get-togethers that are traditional amongst friends. My 'task' is the Holiday Tea: I have enjoyed this for so many years...hunting for new recipes, polishing the antique silver, purchasing little cooking items for gift bags and making the breads, candies and cookies that accompany the jams I put up the previous summer....ahhhhh

    • Where I Belong
      • Sea! There is nothing I do not love about the ocean - I grew up near it, have tried to live near the oceans and seas of the world! I am a Pisces, so naturally that is my affinity...there is nothing like floating on top of a gently moving sea, knowing that below me is an entire world just hoping I will visit.

    • Dating Scene
      • I've only asked one man out on a date...it was a luncheon date at the Library patio cafe. I was exhilarated - that's the best word! I had not seen this person for nearly 30 years and there's was such excitement for both of us, with a bit of fairy dust tossed gently over us. It was magic!

      • This is a gross embarrassment for a gourmet cook! I loved Franco-American spagetti-o's. Now just the smell makes me gag! But there's something appealing to a little kid about opening a can and voila! spagetti-o's! The name of the company versus the product should have been a giveaway, but heck, I was only 6! In case you are concerned that I irreversibly ruined my internal systems including olfactory, let me assure you that I quickly learned to appreciate my mom's marvelous pasta and sauce! The canned version, I believe, was the 'gift' of a babysitter.

    • Classroom Crisis
      • Possibly the experience that turned me away from art and into writing occurred in the 4th grade. Our instructions were to use any medium to recreate a phalaenopsis orchid in the classroom. I used oils and expressionism. Apparently that is not what the nun (I conveniently forget her name) wanted. Oh well
