    • Eh. Junior high. Big deal.
      • Junior high. The teachers at my middle school told me I'd have two hours of homework every night and the choir music would be impossible and I'd get trash-canned by the 9th graders and the band music would be too hard too. They also said the lunch food was horrible and the teachers were mean, and they assigned really huge projects that were really hard. They said we'd get ISS (In School Suspension) for being tardy more than once, and we didn't get bathroom breaks. I was terrified going into that school.

I've been in junior high for two years, and I'm finally escaping to high school. When I had homework, I usually got most of it done during school, when a teacher was talking or when I was supposed to be reading. When I still didn't have it finished, I'd take it home and spend maybe 15 minutes on it. I made 10th chair junior high all-region choir my 8th grade year, and 1st chair my 9th grade year. I got a few solos. The 9th graders were like my big brothers and sisters. I became a few 8th graders' big sister when I was a 9th grader. My band music was hard, but it was really fun. I made junior-high all-region both years. I was always at least 4th chair alto sax, and I usually hovered around 2nd. The lunch food really is terrible. But I take my lunch from home. Big deal. Most of my teachers are really cool. I have one annoying teacher, but she's not evil. My other teachers are hilarious and can somehow make their classes fun. (I mean, pre-AP civics? I have no idea how my teacher pulled it off.) In the two years I spent in junior high, I had one really big evil project. Just one. You get detention, not ISS, for three tardies. Detention is actually kind of fun. If all else, it is a great time to do homework I didn't feel like doing the night before. Technically, I don't get bathroom breaks, but most of my teachers don't follow that rule.

Junior high wasn't all that terrible. Someone needs to inform those middle school teachers.
