    • First day of school
      • I can't remember my first day of school, but I remember my first school. It was less than a block away from my house, but I still had to ride the bus. If I remember correctly, I might've been the first one to get picked up, too! I always wore a dress-- always. My mom would walk me to the end of the driveway and I would proudly, with my head up to the sky, stand on a large pink rock that glimmered when the sun graced it. As weird as it sounds, I loved this rock. I felt bigger than the world standing there at about three and a half feet tall.

My school was small, tiny actually. I remember sitting next to a boy who tried lifting my dress while I was sitting down. Boys are so silly. That's what I remember.

    • By "the ideal job" you must mean "lack of what others consider a real job"
      • My ideal job? I would be going against everything I ever thought I should do and stay home as long as I like, leave when I want, answer to no one, work if I want, relax if I want, and make art when I want. Sweet rebellious art. Not sticking to any one type of art I would prove it's okay to be indecisive. I would finally use my fear of committing in a healthy way and not be seen as immature for it. Daily, I would welcome friends, family, and strangers into my studio to join in on protesting the act growing up. Make a mess a truly beautiful thing. Share the solution.

    • A kind memory
      • My 6th birthday party. I remember the magnitude of it. We lived on about an acre of land and my parents rented a huge tent and hired clowns and such. There was face-painting and piñata-breaking. Many of my family members were there-- probably more than I remember having. Boys and girls dressed in their nicest clothes and tons of gifts. One of my aunts elected herself as ringleader of the party, organizing the games and stringing the kids along from event to event. She did a great job. I remember I wore a jean skirt and a white t-shirt I had painted myself. I gave my t-shirt a big huge name-plate. I used bright pink paint. It was a total delight. I can't remember exactly what my mom and dad were doing, but as I think of this story, my moms beautiful face comes to mind. Her warm smile and my dad's enthusiastic character. I'm sure my mom and I spent the entire time near each other and my dad was somewhere grilling meat and entertaining the adults.

        What a wonderful day.
