"Share a story or your family member's traits."
I wish that I could see many of my family more often. Let's be honest, some weeks I only see my hubby and the cats - some times for more than a week at a time! I would love to be able to see my mum and dad more often (but seperately, of course!) who I rarely see despite living in the same town as they both do. This is one of the drawbacks of being almost totally housebound most days, I suppose. That and not really having any face-to-face friends in the non-online world.
The other family that I most enjoy spending time with are:
-
- "Share three good things about your life right now."
-
I am alive.
Well, it is better than the opposite, even if there is sometimes discomfort or pain from my various medical conditions. I love my life these days and have been able to come to terms with doing what I am able to do without regretting or mourning what I have had to stop doing — well I try to do so less often, anyway.
My brother and his girlfriend.
I have just spent five nights staying at their house, spending time with them and their dogs. Relaxation and discussion was had and it has been respite for me, hubby and also fun for them. They live in a single floor property in a tiny village and it is a huge change in the pace of life from this "flat" with two flights of stairs in a busy town area (even if this is not as busy as living in a city!).
The internet.
Without the internet I would not have a social life. I am cooped up on the top floor of this "flat" most of the time and rarely see anyone other than hubby or the cats from one day to the next. With the internet I am able to play social games like World of Warcraft, keep an online journal on livejournal.com, re-awaken my interests in knitting and writing and live life vicariously through the writing and photographs on other people's journals and blogs.

- Put together a lineup for your very own summer music festival. List the artists who perform at YouFest.

U2
Seen them live twice. Awesome live.
Radiohead
Always loved their music. Would love to see them live.
Faithless
Have loved everything that they have put out and they were amazing in TV footage of their live act.
Jethro Tull
Seen them live twice. They RAWK!
Muse
Have really enjoyed wating their live performances on YouTube.
Depeché mode
Have liked them since the word go in the 80s and adore their recent stuff even more.
Leftfield
Awesome music but sadly they are no more.
Underworld
Ditto - awesome music but sadly they are no more.
The Cure
Old favourites and still great.
David Sylvian
Just an amazing artist but I am not sure that her performs live so this one might not happen.
Peter Gabriel
I have liked everything by him that I have heard. Stunning.
Placebo
…as long as they do the amazing cover of Running Up That Hill!
Massive Attack
Another great chillout band.
I think this is turning into a multiple tent/stage music festival like Glasto - but it would be presented at fully accessible and peatherproof venues - maybe multiple venues in London or one venue over many differently themed days.
Moby
No-brainer. A festival or concert without him playing "We Are All Made Of Stars" would not be a one that I wanted to attend.
Munk
You may not have heard of Munk but I bought their album after they did the theme music for an audiobook/poscast calls Shadow Falls by Mark Yoshimoto Nemkoff. Search them in iTunes — you will not regret it.
Newton Faulkner
Once I heard his cover of "Teardrop", I just had to buy his album. Another one that is well worth searching in iTunes or on the web.
S. J. Tucker
Filk and amazing. What a voice!
Paul Oakenfold
Have you worked out yet that I have a very wide and varied music taste? ;-p
Portishead
Just stunning. Once again I love everything that they have done. I am running out of things to write to be honest!
R.E.M.
Ditto. Lather, rinse and repeat.
Tricky
Just awesome trip-hop.
