    • A lovely evening
      • Couple, cell phone, dog, grasses, walking along the beach at Golden Gardens, Seattle, Washington, USA

Anisha: "Sigh! This is so lovely!!! I wish we could do this often."

Sameer: "Yeah, me too. Remember the day we had our first date here. I never thought I would end up marrying you."

Anisha: "Why?" "Do you regret it?"

Sameer: "Sort of, when you wont let me sleep late even on Sundays!"

Anisha: "You are so mean. If you don't want to be pushed in the water, you better give me an honest answer."

Sameer: "I was just kidding. You are the best thing that's happened to my life. I was just a boy when I met you and you made me a man. You have always stood by me and gave me two lovely daughters. Don't ever doubt for a second that I regret having you in my life."

Anisha: "Thank you and you know that I love you too. But now let's go back to our home. It's getting dark."

    • P.S. I Love You
      • I am an emotional person so most of the good movies do make me shed a tear or too. But, play P.S. I Love You anytime and you will be out of tissues in no time. This one movie makes me go completely haywire. The time when Holly comes back to her apartment after the funeral and keeps dialing Gerry's number just to hear his voice makes me suffocate along with her. However, the first time I didn't like the movie much or rather I would say I didn't understand what it is like to lose someone you love. But now I do understand how difficult it is to move on and forget all the lovely memories you built together. It's a wonderful movie. Hillary Swank and Gerard Butler have done an awesome job.

    • How I Feel About Swear Words, Goshdarnit
      • Swear words have always found a very minimal use in my life. I am not against swear words. But when used in meetings, interviews, presentations, official letters or assignments becomes annoying. Some people tend to begin almost each and every word with a swear word which is irritating to me. Though I agree that using it is not bad and its just a way of expression, people don't literally mean it.

    • A walk through my dream…
      • Mondrian Kitchen

Home is where your heart lies.

It was a tough day at work with barely a minute to breathe fresh air. Everyone was done for the day and now was the time to catch up with friends or go home to your family. Well I am not married yet and my best friend is out of town so I had no other option but to go back home. Ah! Home, it warms me up at the thought of it. I got into my car and took it onto the busy street where everyone was hurrying to get back to their safety net. Leaving behind the bustling street I took the highway. Yeah! My home is a few kilometers away from the main city. I have always wanted to stay in a quiet place surrounded by greeneries; vast fields where you can see the sun set with a hot cup of coffee on porch and breathe fresh air. I was nearing home and I felt delighted. I snaked away on the uphill lane that led to my home. I could see a beautiful house fenced neatly by the hedges. The front porch light illuminated the beautifully kept lawn and the concrete pathway that led to the steps on the front porch. I passed through the open wrought iron gate and took the small driveway lined with beautiful flowers that led straight to the garage. The garage has an automatic shutter painted in shades of coffee and brown, and it looks lovely against the cream colored walls of my house. I got out of my car and took the small three steps to the open oval shaped veranda with three pillars and a low rise platform with ceramic tiles where you could sit and read a novel while it rained. There is a swing as well in the verandah but I hardly use it. The cold ceramic tile feels more comfortable to me apart from the winters. The huge mahogany door on the right side of the verandah is the way to the inside of my cozy home. On the left there’s a small room with shoe racks to keep all your dirty, smelly or the pretty shoes. Adjacent to that is the drawing room with full length sliding doors that open straight on to the outside verandah. And when I feel like having more natural light in the room I draw the curtains, otherwise it just stays that way. On the right is the dining area perfect for a family of four and also the kitchen. I love cooking so I have made it really big with lots of counters and cabinets to keep it spacious and clean. There’s also a small guest room next to the drawing room. Next to the kitchen there’s a door that leads to the backyard planted with a number of trees. At the far end of the room there are stairs to the first floor. There are three bedrooms with attached bathrooms and a reading room on this floor. Each bedroom has terrace overlooking the hills and the small lake nearby. There are not too many houses on this property which makes it easier for me to see the sun set and believe that the earth and the sky do meet in some places. The terrace is always covered with beautiful blossoming creepers. This was my dream home that I took you through, hope you liked it. But no matter what I love this place. I feel peace and happiness here. Now I shall go and watch a movie in the living room on the south wing of my home. Tada!!!

    • My Superhero's Special Power

      • Oh! I am a big admirer of the series HEROES. Nathan, Peter, Emma, Hiro, Claire, Nikki, Matt etc etc, I wish I could be like any one of these superheroes except Sylar though. Any sort of power makes you feel so powerful, isn’t that so? Yeah it is for me at least. And if I could ever be a superhero, ever ever, I would love to have this one power of learning languages. It would be so great to be able to comprehend, speak and write in over 7000 languages. Chinese, Italian, Spanish, French, Sanskrit, Latin, German, Greek, Danish or any other language. I could express myself in any of these languages. I would be able to help people. I am a journalist so it would help me even more. I could travel to any part of the world and try to shed some light on the various problems that people go through. So, this is what I want my superhero to have: the ability to communicate, read or write in any language be it an extinct one or a living one. This way I can do my bit on this stage of the world.
