      • In response to: "What was the comfort food you enjoyed most growing up?" Broccoli cheese and rice casserole; it's my favorite food. It's a dish my family traditionally has at Thanksgiving and Christmas. When I come home from college, mom always has some made for me.

    • The breakup
      • I'm not the only one who has been dumped by email. It was a few days after my birthday. My boyfriend of a year and a half, who I was crazy about, was in Iraq. I had just sent him a care package that had cost me a fair bit, and of course I was worried sick about him because I rarely heard from him.
He emailed me that it was over--here's the kicker--and CCed it to someone with a very girly email address.

    • Stuck in an elevator with Robert Pattinson
      • Robert Pattinson
Yes, he is Edward--but I would just love to have a conversation with him. He took a fan to dinner and was so depressing, she LEFT. I know these diehard fans. That would take a lot. Plus, since I have an anxiety disorder as well, I would like to know how he can deal with it in the public's eye.

    • Hans christian anderson brings me back
      • One of the first books I remember reading was my grandmother's ancient Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale book. I credit that with my love of reading and my love of writing fairy tales today, as well as my dark sense of humor--those old stories are nothing like Disney.

    • Zombies!
      • My ex-boyfriend was obsessed with the coming zombie invasion and has just about every zombie video game created (yeah--there's a reason he's my ex). Still a good friend of mine, I informed him that in the case of a zombie invasion he would be the first one I would come find. He answered, "Hell yeah, then we'd go to Alaska. We would probably find some weapons too." So, when the zombies come, apparently I'm moving to Alaska.

    • I could eat nothing but tex-mex for a year!
      • Tex Mex, dear god, I could live on Tex Mex the rest of my life. Spicy and cheesy and the most amazing food in the world. The best comes from Larry's Mexican Food in Houston. You gotta get Larry's Special Nachos--chips drenched in queso, covered with refried beans, beef, guacamole, lettuce, and more cheese. I'll be in Houston next week and this is my first stop and I cannot WAIT.
