If we all compete for the same things, no one is guaranteed safety. Guarantee your own safety by having a decoy plan, one that sounds plausible, so that when the time comes, you have a plan that no one will suspect, hence, steal. Choose your party members well in advance, but tell them nothing of the plan, as you cannot trust anyone not to betray the group. This is a time for hard choices, but you have to be the one to make them, for your future, and humankind's.
