- I Wish I Knew More About...
-
i suppose i'd like to know a little more about life to learn what it is i'm to do between now and death. because death knows where it is. it is a resounding end. occasionally it might announce itself immaturely and pose a question. but most of the time, when it happens, it's final. i find it quite ironic that the certainty you might spend your whole life searching for will only find you by accident, when you become a full stop at the end of your life sentance.
so you might wonder what is to be done in the mean time? or you might ask yourself what is it that you WANT to do.
i've decided to write a dreary and wholly indulgent piece of writing but let's not confuse the issue. this is highly important. this isn't a drink of water, although we shouldn't doubt the importance of the flow of water. because that's important too. but this is to be indulgent. what do i want?
i want to drink guinness and whisky.
here - the voice will likely speak again: but what do you REALLY want to do.
i REALLY want to drink Guinness and Whisky.
you can't do that forever.
and i know this. of course i do. i'd like a little sleep afterwards and when i wake up i'd like some mackerel and scrambled eggs. and then i'd like to learn something.
Now we're getting somewhere! what is it you want to learn?
I suppose i'd like to know a little more about life to learn what it is i'm to do.
now you're being difficult.
and i know i'm being difficult.
but i still don't know the answer.

- How George Carlin Feels About Swear Words

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_Nrp7cj_tM
'I think the word Fuck is a very important word. It is the beginning of life, yet it is a word we use to hurt one another quite often. People much wiser than I am have said, "I'd rather have my son watch a film with two people making love than two people trying to kill one another.'

- I Keep Myself Up at Night

The kitchen closes. The door is locked. But there is work. Clearing the confusion accumulated over the passing of only one day. Recalling neglected details and imagining surreal scenarios. Untangling thoughts like a headphone cable waiting to hear my music and to dream. Barely understanding and not yet able to think about tomorrow – there is a knock and i answer – sleep.
(and bad pillows).

- Death Penalty shoot-out
-
No. The death penalty seems to be as much about an exertion of power than it is about understanding the moral consequences of our actions. Life is not black and white, nor is death. We simply do not understand enough about ourselves to be ending other lives. UNLESS, it is introduced in football whereby during a penalty shoot-out a random ball is filled with explosives with the sole intention of adding an extra dimension to the entertainment. A maximum of 3 footballs will be permitted to contain said explosives, and will explode on impact. The number between 1-3 dependent on the amount of entertainment provided by the two teams during the 120 or so minutes. Not really though, obviously.
