I've heard that I look like Liv Tyler more times than I can count. I think people just generalize that because we both have dark hair, blue eyes, and fair skin, that we look alike. In some pictures of myself and some of her I can see very faint resemblences, but overall, I wish I looked like her. She's gorgeous.

The cabin was rented for the guests of my friend's wedding. She had a small, intimate wedding so all of us stayed in the cabin comfortably and had a great time. That's also where the reception was held. We didn't do anything fancy, really, aside from the cutting of the cake and whatnot, but I did enjoy sitting on the porch in an adirondack chair with a glass of wine while taking pictures of the mountains.

My fiance will give me the silent treatment for a few minutes anytime I mention in conversation that I haven't seen this movie. He'll reference the movie, I'll remind him that I haven't seen him, and he'll shake his head and refuse to talk to me for a couple of minutes. I probably won't see it on principle now.

Shop sales racks, use coupons, and save
When I was a kid, my mom used to do our school shopping from outlets at Potomac Mills and when we went into a store, she would first go to the clearance and sale racks before looking at regular price items. I hated it. As an adult, I am extremely conscious of the money I spend and I'm glad I didn't grow up with this impression that: the more you spend = the better you are.

Always send "thank you" notes
A "thank you" note goes a long way and it not only shows your appreciation, but it also wins you points.

It's been over 10 years since this song was released. Radio stations in the area still play it on a regular basis. Ugh. In high school select choir in 2001, we had to sing this in a choral performance and I hate it more than most because of that experience.

The story of my life would make one hell of an interesting book. Ultimately, I want to write the story of losing my father and all that entailed in the years that followed.

Now that I've met the right guy, there is so much to look forward to in our future. When the time comes that we're ready for all of that, it will be a blast.

Spend at least a month in Ireland
I really want to see my namesake, River Shannon. Someday, I'll spend a month touring castles, moors, villages, and pubs. That month will be amazing.

Learn how to make quilts from Mom
One of the things I hold closest to my heart is the quilt my mom made me when I was a little girl. I hope someday that my mom will teach me how to make quilts of my own.

I read this book in high school and I think that at the time, I was doubting the religious beliefs that were prevalent in my life and I was trying to make sense of why insignificant things happen and hold such a crucial impact on all other aspects of life. This book made me feel like I understood everything.

There comes that moment when you realize it's really, truly, completely over. You're on your own, (s)he's not coming back, and you need to move on. This song is about death, but if you're devastated, it feels right.

All the things I love are nearby. The coffee shop where I met the love of my life, the University where I became a better student, the places where I worked when I was struggling to get by, the apartment where I lived on my own for a year, the historical sites that make me proud of my nationality, and the closeness of good friends and new family.
